12,000 coils. The primary winding has 12,000 coils.

In order to solve this problem we have to use the relation for a transformer Vp/Vs = Np/Ns, where Vp is the voltage across the primary winding, Vs in the voltage across the secondary winding, Np is the numbers of coils in the primary winding, and Ns is the number of coils en the secondary winding.

With Vp = 350,000 V, Vs = 17,500 V, and Ns = 600 coils:

350,000 V/17,500 = Np / 600 coils

Np = (600 coils x 350,000 V) / 17,500 V

Np = 210,000,000/ 17,500 coils

Np = 12,000 coils

Consider the following geometric solids.
Bad White [126]

Before answering this question, first we have to understand the effect of ratio of surface area to volume on the rate of diffusion.

The rate of diffusion for a body having larger surface area as compared to the ratio of surface area to volume will be more than a body having less surface area. Mathematically it can written as-

                           V∝ R            [ where v is the rate of diffusion and r is the ratio of surface area to volume]

As per the question,the ratio of surface area to volume for a sphere is given 0.08m^{-1}

The surface area to volume ratio for right circular cylinder is given 2.1m^{-1}

Hence, it is obvious that the ratio is more for right circular cylinder.As the rate diffusion is directly proportional to the surface area to volume ratio,hence rate of diffusion will be more for right circular cylinder.

Hence the correct option is B. The rate of diffusion would be faster for the right cylinder.

Car A starts in Sacramento at 11am. It travels along 400 mile route to Los Angeles at 60 mph. Car B starts from Los Angeles at n
damaskus [11]

Answer:

  • 38.89 miles

Explanation:

from the question we have the following:

distance between Sacramento and los angles = 400 miles

speed of car A = 60 mph

start time of car A = 11 am

speed of car B = 75 mph

start time of car B = 12 pm

distance of Fresno from Los Angeles = 150 miles

  • To start off let's allow car A to travel for one hour (from 11 am to 12 pm), during which it would have covered a distance of 60 miles.
  • Now the time would be 12 pm and the distance between the two cars would be 400 - 60 (distance traveled by car A within 11 am to 12 pm) = 340 miles
  • From 12 pm to the time both cars will meet, the distance covered by car A + distance covered by car B would be equal to 340 miles. Therefore
  • Distance covered by car A = speed x time(t) = 60 x t = 60t
  • Distance covered by car B = speed x time(t) = 75 x t = 75t
  • 60t + 75t = 340 miles
  • 135t = 340
  • t = 2.51 hours
  • Recall that at their meeting point, the distance covered by car B = 75t = 75 x 2.62 = 188.89 miles
  • Since Fresno is 150 miles from Los Angeles, car B which is 188.89 miles from Los Angeles at their meeting point would be 188.89 - 150 = 38.89 miles from Fresno
  • 38.89 miles would also be the distance of car A from Fresno since that is their meeting point.

Amy crashed her bike into the fence. She was thrown over it onto the lawn. Which Newton law applies
BlackZzzverrR [31]

Answer:

Newton's First Law of Motion applies here.

Explanation:

Before crashing into the fence, Amy was moving at a certain speed on her bike. As, she crashed her bike into the fence, the collision stopped the bike suddenly. But, Amy had the same speed due to inertia of her body. Due tot  his speed Amy did not stop and she was thrown over the fence onto the lawn. So, the force of inertia of Amy's body caused her to be overthrown in this case. We study about inertia in Newton's First Law of Motion, which is also known as Law of Inertia.

tankabanditka [31]

Answer:

a) 24.33 m of distance.

b) 34.55° east of the south.

Explanation:

The question is incomplete. The whole exercise is the following:

<em>"Ricardo and Jane are standing under a tree in the middle of a pasture. An argument ensues, and they walk away in different directions. Ricardo walks 28.0 m in a direction 60.0° west of north. Jane walks 12.0 m in a direction 30.0° south of west. They then stop and turn to face each other. </em>

<em>(a) What is the distance between them? </em>

<em>(b) In what direction should Ricardo walk to go directly toward Jane?</em><em>"</em>

Now that we know what we need to do in this question, let's head for every part of the problem.

<u>a) Distance between Ricardo and Jane</u>

In this case, we need to analyze the given data:

Ricardo (which we will call R) is 28 m from the starting point at 60° west of north, and Jane (J) is 12 m at 30° south of west. So the distance between them, will be the point where they both stop and face each other. This point can be seen in the image attached (See picture).

Let's call the distance between them as "D", to get the distance of D, according to the picture will be:

D = J - R   (1)

However, as they are facing in different angles and directions, we cannot do the difference of their values distance just like that. In order to do that, we need to calculate the components in the "x" and "y" axis of each vector. In that way, we can get the components of x and y of the Distance D, and then, the whole distance between them will be:

D = √Dx² + Dy²     (2)

So, let's get the components of x and y of R and J.

For Ricardo (R):

Rx = R sin60° = 28 sin60° = -24.25 m

Ry = R cos60° = 28 cos60° = 14 m

The sign "-" it's because R it's on the second quadrant, therefore in x, we'll have to add the negative.

For Jane (J):

Jx = J cos30° = 12 cos30° = -10.39 m

Jy = J sin30° = 12 sin30° = -6 m

Again, the negative is added because J is on the third quadrant.

Now that we have the components, let's calculate vector D using expression (1):

Dx = -10.39 - (-24.25) = 13.86 m

Dy = -6 - 14 = -20 m

Now, using expression (2) we can finally know the distance between Jane And Ricardo:

D = √(-20)² + (13.86)²

<h2>D = 24.33 m</h2>

This is the distance between Jane and Ricardo.

b) Direction of Ricardo walking to Jane

In this case, we already have the components of x and y of the distance between them, so, to know the direction:

Tanα = Dy/Dx

α = tan⁻¹ (Dy/Dx)

Replacing the values we have:

α = tan⁻¹ (-20/13.86)

α = 55.45°

Which should south of east or:

β = 90 - 55.45

<h2>β = 34.55°</h2>

Ricardo should walk 34.55° east of south

Hope this helps
