The standard form: Ax + By = C.

y=-\dfrac{1}{2}x+4\qquad\text{multiply both sides by 2}\\\\2y=-x+8\qquad\text{add x to both sides}\\\\\boxed{x+2y=8}

In standard form it would be x + 2y = 8.

x + 2y = 8

2y = -x + 8

y = -1/2x +4
