You would round them to the nearest ten. First 33 you would take the 3 in the ones place and if its greater or equal to 5 it bumps the number in the tens up but it isnt so the 3 stays the same and its 30. You do the same with 89 and get 90. That was a bit confusing but its kinda hard to explain:(

33 rounded would be 30 because the 3 is less than 5 so it stays the same. 89 would round to 90 because the 9 is bigger than 5 so the 8 turns into a 9 then add 30+90=120

Find the value of x.
slavikrds [6]

Answer:

x=11

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The Midpoint Theorem states that the segment joining two sides of a triangle at the midpoints of those sides is parallel to the third side and is half the length of the third side.

so

In this problem

(x+5)=\frac{1}{2}(3x-1)

solve for x

Multiply by 2 both sides

2x+10=3x-1

subtract 2x both sides

10=3x-1-2x

10=x-1

Adds 1 both sides

x=11

VladimirAG [237]

Answer:

The answer to your question is h = 125.85 ft = 126 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Process

1.- Determine two equations to solve the problem

    tan 14 = \frac{h}{x}                     (1)

    tan 47 = \frac{h}{x - 386}           (2)

    from (1)                           h = xtan14

    substitute in (2)             tan 47 = \frac{xtan14}{x - 386}

    solve for x                     tan47(x - 386) = xtan14

                                          1.07x - 413.9 = 0.25x

                                          1.07x - 0.25x = 413.9

                                           0.82x = 413.9

                                           x = 413.9/0.82

                                           x = 504.76 ft

2.- Calculate h

                                          h = 504.76 tan 14

                                          h = 125.85 ft = 126 ft

Ryan needs 20 feet of cable. The longest piece on her truck is 18 3/8 feet. How many feet too short is the cable on the truck? *
prisoha [69]

Answer:

1 5/8 too short

Step-by-step explanation:

The cable on the truck is 18 and 3/8 ... to complete the fraction into a whole number we would need 5 more parts in order to complete the entire 8 parts of the fraction. This would make the cable a whole 19 feet. Since Ryan needs 20 ft, this would leave us needing 1 more foot. Therefore, the cable in the truck is

1 5/8 too short
