Maybe you're confused by this number e.
Replace e with the number 2 and rethink your options:

x^2
2^x
2x

So you think maybe it's C.
2x represents a straight line, ya?
Straight line is going to grow much slower than x^2, a parabola, ya?

But both of those will grow much much slower than an exponential function 2^x.

Oh oh I misread the question.. they wanted the SLOWEST growth, not the fastest. Yes you have the correct option! :)

Evaluate the difference quotient for the given function. Simplify your answer.
IgorC [24]

Answer:

-5 - h

Step-by-step explanation:

ƒ(x) = 1 + 5x - x²

[f(5 + h) -f(5)]/h

= [1 + 5(5 + h) - (5 + h)² - 1 - 5(5) +5²]/h

= (25 + 5h - 25 - 10h - h² - 25 + 25)/h

= (-5h - h²)/h

= -5 - h

The difference quotient is -5 - h.

Twice the sum of x and y decreased by 21
Semenov [28]
Answer: 2((x+y)-21)

Calculation/Explanation:

Twice the sum of x and y decreased by 21 means that you must add x and y first before decreasing by 21. The last step is to double the whole equation that we just performed.
