Hi there! Putting this equation into a slope-intercept basically means solving for y. Move everything besides the constant of y and y to the other side giving you 2y=-4x+4. Divide both sides by 2 to give you y alone. This gives you y=-2x+2
Hope this helped!

Alice purchased 4 1⁄2 kilograms of olive oil for $27. What is the price per kilogram?
Ede4ka [16]
<h3>Answer: 6 dollars per kilogram</h3>

=====================================================

Explanation:

The mixed number 4 & 1/2 converts to the decimal form 4.5

The unit price is 27/(4.5) = 6 dollars per kilogram

------

If you wanted, you can think of it like this ratio

4.5 kg : 27 dollars

Dividing both parts of that ratio by 4.5 will lead to

Three people invest in a treasure dive, each investing the amount listed below. The dive results in 40 gold coins. Apportion tho
garri49 [273]

Answer:

Alice: 20 coins, Ben: 16 coins, and Carlos: 4 coins.

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that the dive results in 40 gold coins.

We know that:

Alice: $7,600 Ben: $5,900 Carlos: $1,400.

So they have $ 14900 in total.

Now we will divide that money by 40.

x=\frac{14900}{40}\\\\x=372.5

So 1 gold coin costs $ 372.5. Now we will calculate how much they can get for the money they have.

A=\frac{7600}{372.5}=20.4\\\\B=\frac{5900}{372.5}=15.8\\\\C=\frac{1400}{372.5}=3.75\\

We conclude that:

Alice: 20 coins, Ben: 16 coins, and Carlos: 4 coins.

Two pumps connected in parallel fail indepen- dently of each other on any given day. The proba- bility that only the older pump
lions [1.4K]

Answer: 0.145

Step-by-step explanation:

Since,

the Probability of the older pump failing P(fail older) = 0.10

The probability of the newer pump failing P(fail newer) = 0.05

Therefore,

The Probability of the older pump not failing P(not fail older) = 1 - 0.1

P(not fail older) = 0.9

Also,

The probability of the newer pump not failing P(not fail newer) = 1 - 0.05 = 0.95

The probability of the pumping system failing = P(not fail older)* P(not fail newer) = 0.9*0.95

P(not fail system)= 0.855

Therefore,

The probability that the pumping system will fail = 1 - P(not fail system) = 1 - 0.855 = 0.145

The probability that the pumping system will fail one day is 0.145
