x+15= instructor's wage

Add their wages set equal to $65

x + (x + 15)= 65
combine like terms

2x + 15= 65
subtract 15 from both sides

2x= 50
divide both sides by 2

x= $25 assistant's wage

x+15= 25 + 15= $40 instructor's wage


ANSWER: (C) $25 hourly wage of assistant
