Okay so first add the common terms so add -102 and 13 which is -89
The next step is to bring the -89 to the other side of the equal side to make it equal to x so you add 89 to both sides
Then it becomes 5x=89 so x becomes 17.8

Matteo spends a total of 38 min exercising. He walks for 6 min to warm up and then runs at a constant rate of 8 min per mile for
umka2103 [35]

Answer:

No, he not correct because he only ran 4 mi

Step-by-step explanation:

If he walks for 6 min out of the 38 min, then he ran for 32 min.

d = rt        1 mi = 8r

r = 1/8 = 1 mi/8 min   Since he ran 32 min we have

d = 1/8(32) = 4 mi.

No, he not correct because he only ran 4 mi

2x-1-(-x+3) = 6-2x SHOW STEPS....DUE TODAY
sveta [45]

Answer:

x=2

Step-by-step explanation:

Simplify both sides of the equation.

2x−1−(−x + 3)=6−2x

(Distribute the Negative Sign)

2x−1 + −1(−x + 3)=6−2x

2x + −1 + −1(−x) + (−1)(3)=6−2x

2x + −1 + x + −3=6−2x

2x + −1 + x + −3=6 + −2x

(Combine Like Terms)

(2x + x) + (−1 + −3)=−2x+6

3x + −4=−2x + 6

3x−4=−2x + 6

Add 2x to both sides.

3x−4 + 2x=−2x + 6 + 2x

5x−4=6

Add 4 to both sides.

5x−4 + 4=6 + 4

5x=10

Divide both sides by 5.

5x/5=10/5

x=2

Question 2 An exponential model y = a.6 passes through the points (0,9) and (3,243). What are the values of a and b?
weqwewe [10]

Answer:

a = 9, b = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

The exponential function is

y = a b^{x}

Find a and b by using the points it passes through

Using (0, 9 ) then

9 = a b^{0} ( b^{0} = 1 )

a = 9

y = 9 b^{x}

Using (3, 243 ) then

243 = 9b³ ( divide both sides by 9 )

27 = b³ ( take the cube root of both sides )

b = \sqrt[3]{27} = 3

y = 9(3)^{x} ← exponential equation

What is the value of x in the equation, 70 = 12 + 9x – 2(x + 6)
lesantik [10]

Solution :-

➩ 70 = 12 + 9x - 2 ( x + 6 )

➩ 70 = 12 + 9x - 2x - 12

➩ 70 = 0 + 7x

➩ 70 = 7x

Here we can use 2 methods

Methods :-

  1. Trial and error method :- By adding,subtracting , multiplying or dividing the same variable or constant on LHS & RHS
  2. Transposing :- by transposing a term from LHS to RHS or RHS to LHS

• Trial and error

By dividing with 7 on both sides

➩ 70/7 = 7x/7

➩ x = 10

• Transposing

By transposing 7 from RHS. to LHS

➩ 70/7 = x

➩ x = 10

Hence , x = 10
