Problem One
Remark
If she doesn't mind having I kg left over, the minimum number would be 3 five kg boxes. If on the other hand, she must have exactly 14 kg then the minimum number is 6.

She needs 2 five kg boxes and 4 one kg boxes. <<<< Answer

Problem Two
There is a method of solving this that is called dimensional analysis. It is what should be used here. I'll do it at the end of the problem. In the meantime, you have to do it a slightly longer way.

1 portion = 100 grams.
x portions = 1kg which is 1000 grams.
x portions = 1000 grams.

Set up a proportion to find the number of servings in 1 kg
1 portion/x = 100 grams/1000 grams Cross multiply
1 * 1000 = 100 * x                                 Divide by 100
1000/100 = x
x = 10 servings in 1 kg.

So each kg produces 10 portions
1 kg / 10 portions = 20 kg / x portions Cross multiply
x * 1 = 10 * 20
x = 200 portions   <<<<< Answer

Dimensional Analysis
[1batch]*[1 portion/100g][1000g/kg][20kg/batch] the units cancel
1000 * 20 / 100 only the portions are left over.
200 portions is the answer.

Problem Three
1 kg = 1000 grams
x kg = 5000 grams  Cross multiply

1*5000 = 1000 x
x = 5 kg

1 parcel weighs 5 kg
x = 15 kg

15 kg = 5 x
x = 15/5
x = 3

So he can carry 3 parcels per trip.

Since there are 5 such parcels, he will have to make 2 trips. The second one will not be a full load.
First Trip = 3 parcels
Second Trip = 2 parcels. <<<<Answer

In 2006, 95% of new cars in the US came with a spare tire. In 2017, 72% came with a spare tire.
MArishka [77]

Using the Central Limit Theorem, it is found that:

  • The mean is 0.23.
  • The standard deviation is s = \sqrt{\frac{0.95(0.05)}{250} + \frac{0.72(0.28)}{250}}.

<h3>Central Limit Theorem</h3>
  • It states that for a <u>proportion p in a sample of size n</u>, the sampling distribution of sample proportions has mean p and standard deviation s = \sqrt{\frac{p(1 - p)}{n}}
  • When two variables are subtracted, the mean is the subtraction of the means, while the standard deviation is the square root of the sum of the variances.

In 2006, 95% of new cars in the US came with a spare tire, with a sample of 250, hence:

p_1 = 0.95, s_1 = \sqrt{\frac{0.95(0.05)}{250}}

In 2017, 72% of new cars in the US came with a spare tire, with a sample of 250, hence:

p_2 = 0.72, s_2 = \sqrt{\frac{0.72(0.28)}{250}}

Hence, for the distribution of differences:

p = p_1 - p_2 = 0.95 - 0.72 = 0.23

s = \sqrt{s_1^2 + s_2^2} = \sqrt{\frac{0.95(0.05)}{250} + \frac{0.72(0.28)}{250}}

Which of the following is an example of an open equation?
An open equation is an equation with at least one variable.
Therefore, 5x + 7 = 12 is an open equation.

Which of the following equations has 3 as a solution
z ‒ 15 = ‒12
z = -12 + 15 = 3

Is (1, 5) a solution to the equation y = x – 2?
5 ≠ 1 - 2
-5 ≠ -1
no

Is (–2, –6) a solution to the equation y = 3x?
-6 = 3(-2)
yes

Which of (3, 5), (4, 6), (5, 7), and (6, 8) are solutions to y = x + 2
5 = 3 + 2
6 = 4 + 2
7 = 5 + 2
8 = 6 + 2

Which step is the same in the construction of a perpendicular line through a point on a line and the construction of a perpendic
Rudik [331]

In both cases the first step is the same. They start placing a compass on point P (which is on or off the line) and swinging an arc of any size that crosses the line twice. This creates a segment on the line that can be bisected.

Then, the steps differs for each case. In the case that the point P is on the line, a larger arc than the previous drawn is needed to be drawn from the extremes of the segment made before. In the other case, the same arc as the previous drawn is used.

The final step is also the same. This consist in connecting the intersection of the two small arcs made to point P.

Which function is shown in the graph below? Please hurry!
neonofarm [45]

Answer: Choice D

\log_6(x) which is the log base 6 of x

====================================================

Explanation:

Since you're given a list of choices, you can plug in each x coordinate of the points shown and see what the y values are.

If you plugged x = 6 into choice A, you would end up with y = -1 but we want y = 1 instead. So choice A can be crossed off the list.

If you plugged in x = 6 into choice B, then you would get y = -2.6 approximately. So this answer won't work either.

Try x = 6 into choice C, and you'll get a division by zero error. So that can be crossed off too.

The only thing left is choice D. This function works because x = 0.5 leads to y = -0.4 approximately. Also, x = 1 and y = 0 pair up together. Similarly, the input x = 6 produces the output y = 1.

note: you may have to use the change of base formula to compute the log values. The change of base formula is log(b,x) = log(x)/log(b)

Jerry's Ice Cream Hut had Chocolate or Vanilla shakes. On the 4th of July they sold 1,440 shakes total with the ratio of chocola
vova2212 [387]

Answer:

They sold 576 chocolate shakes.

Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio of chocolate to vanilla being 6:9.

This means for each 6 + 9 = 15 shakes sold, 6 were of chocolate and 9 were of vanilla.

How many chocolate shakes did they sell?

Using proportions

6 chocolate - 15 shakes

x chocolate - 1440 shakes

15x = 1440*6

x = \frac{1440*6}{15}

x = 576

They sold 576 chocolate shakes.
