The correct answer is number 2. Ambivalence.

Ambivalence refers to the state of having mixed feelings or different ideas about something or a person. In the given situation, Brian had the feeling of ambivalence, since a passerby had smiled on him, which possibly made him think about different ideas that the person may like him or knows him.

1.What type of legal system did Hammurabi set up?
aleksklad [387]

1. ANSWER: The Code of Hammurabi

Hammurabi set up the "Code of Hammurabi" with 282 laws and where the famous phrase "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth" came from. Although this code is actually more complex and less sinister-sounding than the phrase (which is not a direct quote, by the way), this legal system is meant to protect everyone abused, offering just compensation to everyone harmed.

In this system though, the accuser has to be the one to bring the accused to trial.

2. ANSWER: He wants to protect the abused.

Since Hammurabi was ruling a very diverse set of people, he set out to find a set of universal laws to govern everyone. He tapped legal experts to collect previously existing laws and examine them until he formed the Code with 282 laws.

Quoting Hammurabi directly, he said that he set out these laws "to make justice visible in the land, to destroy the wicked person and the evil-doer, that the strong might not injure the weak."

3. ANSWER: The laws influenced future cultures.

The Code of Hammurabi is often attributed as the first set of written laws to be uncovered. Although this may not be the case as there are older laws that were uncovered, being recognized as the first set of written laws often led leaders of future cultures to adopt the system, making these leaders lead the way Hammurabi led.

<h3 /><h3>What was life like in Jamestown?</h3>

Jamestown corresponds to the first English settlement in America being considered the capital of the colony, it was located in Virginia.

In the 1600s, life in Jamestown was difficult, with high rates of violence, insecurity, lack of resources and diseases, and the first settlers found it difficult to settle in the place, where climatic and soil conditions were unfavorable for agriculture and subsistence.

Therefore, the period that comprises the years 1609 and 1610, became known as the <em>"Time of the Famine"</em> in Jamestown, which, due to the scarcity of resources, caused most of the settlers to die due to the precariousness of living conditions.

quizlet According to Jeffrey Gray's reinforcement sensitivity theory, identify a true statement about the behavioral inhibition
gizmo_the_mogwai [7]

Predisposes humans to learn connections between behaviors and rewards, predisposes humans to have fine emotions, underlies the trait of extraversion.

grey hypothesized the lifestyles of two mind-based structures for controlling a person's interactions with their surroundings: the behavioural inhibition system (BIS) and the behavioural activation gadget (BAS). BIS is related to sensitivity to punishment and avoidance motivation.

Reinforcement sensitivity principle proposes three mind-behavioral systems that underlie individual variations in sensitivity to reward, punishment, and motivation. at the same time as no longer at first described as a concept of personality, the RST has been used to study and predict tension, impulsivity, and extraversion

A behavioral method system (BAS) is assumed to modify appetitive motives, in which the purpose is to transport toward something desired. A behavioral avoidance (or inhibition) system (BIS) is said to alter aversive reasons, wherein the intention is to transport away from something ugly.

Compare and contrast "Nature" versus "Nurture".
9966 [12]

Answer:

The nature viewpoint believes much of human behavior is instinctual in origin, and carried through heredity which is based on genetics. Behavior is passed along to children from their parents. Proponents of the nature viewpoint claim that instinctual drives were responsible for practically everything, even the creation of society itself. Because it is instinctual, it is an unchanging, biologically inherited behavior pattern.. The nurture viewpoint is that a person’s behavior and personality are the result of his or her social environment and learning. Ivan Pavlov helped this viewpoint gain acceptance with the experiment teaching the dog to respond to a bell. Despite the differences, most social scientists believe that personality and social behavior result from a blending of heredity and social environmental influences.
