Answer: B) taigas

Taigas are the coldest biome of the world. The animals and plants are adapted to survive in the harsh winter conditions. Some animals adapted to hibernate when the temperature drops and other animals have adapted to the harsh winters by changing the color of their fur that is dark brown in summers and white in winters. This adaptation help them to blend with the snow bearing environment and protect them from the eyes of predators and prey.

On the basis of the above information, B) taigas is the correct option.

Part A Which of the following features is a significant difference in the function of DNA polymerases versus RNA polymerases? Se
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is RNA polymerase does not require a primer to add new nucleotides.

Explanation:

RNA polymerase is an important enzyme of transcription process that deals with the formation of mRNA from DNA. unlike DNA replication, transcription process does not require any RNA primer to carry out the synthesis of mRNA in 5'→3" direction.

RNA polymerase use coding strand of DNA molecule as a template to synthesize new mRNA molecule from that parental DNA molecule.

Describe the weather factors that are important in determining where plants and animals can exist in an area.
nekit [7.7K]

Answer:

rain is very important for life in certain areas, this is why you see little life in deserts and even they need rain occasionally. more rain will lead to more life, first, it will be the plants that move in, then once they grow, vegetation eaters will move in, then after that meat-eaters will move in to eat those creatures and the ecosystem will flourish.

What are the negative consequences of improper disposal of electronic waste?
Gre4nikov [31]

Answer:

1) Increased probability of hazardous chemical contamination.

2) Air, water, and soil pollution.

3) Mortality in both terrestrial and aquatic organisms.

4) Development of diseases in humans.

Explanation:

The improper disposal of electronic waste can have detrimental consequences for the environment and, as a result, to all living beings including humans.

If electronic waste is thrown away in an open area, it warms up and releases hazardous chemicals that are detrimental for the health of living beings. This occurs because <u>electronic objects contain toxic chemicals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, amongst others</u>.

These chemicals will eventually enter both soil and water, harming thousands to millions of terrestrial and aquatic organisms. Moreover, these chemicals will enter the food chain and, as humans consume these affected organisms, we are also affected in numerous ways. For example, ingesting these chemicals could cause reproductive issues, damage to both the nervous and digestive systems, the development of cancer, etc.
