Answer:

Explanation:

Salt:

It is solid chemical compound consist of cation and anion.

Examples:

Sodium chloride:

Sodium chloride is salt made up of chlorine and sodium. Sodium is present in the form of cation while chlorine is present in the form of anion. The charge on sodium is +1 while the charge on chlorine is -1. Sodium atom loses its one valance electrons which is accepted by chlorine and form ionic compound which is called sodium chloride.

Potassium bromide: KBr

Potassium bromide is salt which is formed when potassium lose its one electron to bromine atom. Electrostatic forces develop between them.

Through acid base reaction:

When acid and base react they form salt and water. The H⁺ of acid combine with OH⁻ of base and form water while anion of acid combine with cation of base and form salt.

HCl + NaOH → NaCl + H₂O

NaCl is salt which is produced by the HCl acid and sodium hydroxide base.

Analyzing a specific reaction Consider the following reaction: 2Mg+O2→2MgO,rate=k[Mg][O2]2 Part A What is the overall reaction o
stepladder [879]

Answer:

3

Explanation:

Order of in the mass action law is the coefficient which is raised to the active concentration of the reactants. It is experimentally determined and can be zero, positive negative or fractional.

The order of the whole reaction is the sum of the order of each reactant which is raised to its power in the rate law.

Thus,

For the reaction:-

2Mg+O₂→2MgO

Rate = k[Mg][O₂]²

Order w.r.t. Mg = 1

Order w.r.t. O₂ = 2

So, order of the overall reaction = 1 + 2 = 3

What is the molecular formula for a compound with an empirical formula of CH2O if its experimentally determined molecular weight
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

C6H12O6.

Explanation:

Adding up the relative atomic masses of the elements

C + 2H + O

= 12 + 2*1 + 16.

= 30.

180 / 30 = 6 so the molecular formula is:

C6H12O6.

What is the balanced equation for solid ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3) decomposes explosively to form nitrogen gas, oxygen gas, and w
Karolina [17]

Answer:

2NH4NO3 —> 2N2 + O2 + 4H2O

Explanation:

We begin by writing the skeletal equation as shown below:

NH4NO3 —> N2 + O2 + H2O

The equation can be balance as follow:

There are 4 atoms of H on the left side of the equation and 2 atoms on the right side. It can be balance by putting 2 in front of H2O as shown below:

NH4NO3 —> N2 + O2 + 2H2O

Now we have a total of 4 atoms of O on the left side and 3 atoms on the right side. It can be balance by putting 1/2 in front of O2 as shown below:

NH4NO3 —> N2 + 1/2O2 + 2H2O

Now, multiply through by 2 to clear the fraction as shown below

2NH4NO3 —> 2N2 + O2 + 4H2O

Now the equation is balanced
