First step is to label at the top for the first pair as x1 and y1...then the next pair x2 and y2. ..so what u do is u subtract y2 from y1...and then draw a division line under as if u would divide..and x2 minus x1...and what that answer is for both while still the y answer over top and the x answer under u divide it..once u get the answer u have to put it in a point slope form...which is y-y1 =m(x-x1)..m is slope...u can pick any points which ever is best..and solve..also if u didn't know the y1 gets brought to the other side of the equal sign to go with x1,adding or subtracting depending on the number...it will end up being in slope intercept form of a equation..P.S. if the y1 is a negative compared with the equation it will be positive...ex..y--1=y+1..same goes with x

ddd [48]

The two person will pay the same amount of money when they both watch 9 hockey games.

How to find the equation and use it to find cost?

A hockey season ticket holder pays $99.00 for her tickets plus $3.00 for a program for each game. Therefore,

y = 99 + 3x

where

y = total cost

x = number of game

A second person pays $14.00 for a ticket to every game but doesn't buy programs. Therefore,

y = 14x

The number of games they will have the same amount is as follows:

99 + 3x = 14x

99 = 14x - 3x

99 = 11x

x = 99 / 11

x = 9

Therefore, they will have the same amount when they watch 9 games.
