Perpendicular lines have negative reciprocal slopes. So if the slope is -2/5...to find the negative reciprocal, " flip " the slope and change the sign.
So we flip -2/5 and we get 5/-2...and now we change the sign...and we get 5/2. So our perpendicular slope will be 5/2.

Write the equation in slope-intercept form of a line that has a slope of 1/3 and passes through the point (-6, 0).
Vesna [10]

Answer: y = 1/3x +2

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of line in slope - point form is given as:

y - y_{1} = m ( x - x_{1} )

m = 1/3

y_{1} = 0

x_{1} = -6

substituting into the formula , we have

y - 0 = 1/3 ( x - {-6} )

y = 1/3 (x+6)

y = 1/3x +2

Find all polar coordinates of point p where p = (6, -pi/5)
Lelu [443]
Given a point in coordinates form (r,\theta), one can compute the cartesian form like this:
(r\cos\theta,r\sin\theta )
We have:
r=6,\theta=-\dfrac{\pi}{5}
We get the cartesian form then:
\left(6\cos-\dfrac{\pi}{5},6\sin-\dfrac{\pi}{5}\right)

2. Find the center and radius of the circle with equation (x-6)2+ (y + 5)2 = 9.
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Answer:

Center (6 , -5)   and radius = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

The Standard equation of circle can  be written as

(x - a)² + (y - b)² = r²

with center (a , b)   and radius  = r

Now from given circle equation

(x - 6)² + (y +5)² = 9

so, from here center of circle (6 , -5) and radius = 3
