Answer:

Let X be the number of customer purchased coffee

Let Y be the number of customer purchased donuts

Then X\cap Y is the number of customer purchased both coffee and donuts

X\cup Y  is the number of customer purchased both coffee or donuts

<em><u>The Number of customers purchased  only Coffee:</u></em>

Number of customers purchased  only donuts =n(X -Y)

n( X -Y) = n(X) - n(X \cap Y)

n(X-Y) = 59 -16

n(Y - X) = 43

<em><u>The Number of customers purchased  only donuts:</u></em>

Number of customers purchased  only donuts =n(Y -X)

n(Y - X) = n(Y) - n(X \cap Y)

n(Y - X) = 39 -16

n(Y - X) = 23

<u>The Number of customers did not purchase either of these items:</u>

Number of customers did not purchase either of these items = n(X\cup Y)^{\prime}

First lets find   n(X\cup Y)

n(X\cup Y) = n(X) +  n(Y) - n( X \cap Y)

n(X\cup Y) = 59 + 39 - 16

n(X\cup Y)  = 82

n(X\cup Y)^{\prime}  =110 -  n(X\cup Y)  = 28

If a car reaches speeds of 0-100 mph in 0.8 seconds, how many mph will it reach in 1 second?
zvonat [6]

Answer:

125 mph

Step-by-step explanation:

This can be calculated as a simple rule of 3.

In rule of 3 problems, you need to first identify the measures and whether they are direct or inverse to each other.

If they are direct to each other, if one value increases the other will increase too. For example, lets suppose that the Buffalo Bills have won 3 of 4 games. When there are 8 games, then will have won 6, keeping this proportion. Here, the measures are the number of games and the number of Buffalo Bills wins.

Now if they are inverse to each other, if one value increases the other will decrease. For example, if you travel at 60 mph, you will need 6 hours to arrive at your destination. At 80 mph, you will need less time. So, a the average speed increases, the time you need will decrease.

In this case the speeds is proportional to the time. So, if the time increases, the speed will increase too. It can be calculated by the following rule of 3.

   Speed               Time

 100 mph - 0.8 seconds

 x mph      -  1 second

x = 100/0.8 = 125 mph.

The result of which expression will best estimate the actual product
prisoha [69]

Answer:

The answer is,

(-1) \times \frac {1}{2} \times (-1) \times (1)

Step-by-step explanation:

The given product is,

\frac {-4}{5} \times \frac{3}{5} \times \frac{-6}{7} \times \frac {5}{6}

= \frac {12}{35}

\simeq 0.3429 ---------------------(1)

Now, the first product to compare is,

(-1) \times \frac {1}{4} \times (-1) \times (-1)

= - 0.25 ----------------------------(2)

The second product to compare is,

(-1) \times \frac {1}{2} \times (-1) \times (1)

= 0.5 ------------------------(3)

The 3rd product to compare is,

\frac {-4}{2} \times \frac {3}{2} \times \frac{-2}{5} \times \frac {5}{2}

= 3 ----------------------------(4)

The 4th product to compare is,

\frac {-3}{4} \times \frac {-3}{4} \times \frac {-1}{5} \times \frac {1}{2}

= \frac {-9}{160}

= 0.05625 -----------------(5)

Comparing all the values , we get (3) is closest to (1).

Hence, we get, the answer is,

(-1) \times \frac {1}{2} \times (-1) \times (1)
