Calculate the volume of oxygen at NTP obtained by decomposing 12.26g of KCLO3(at wt. K=39.1, Cl=35.5 and O = 16)
Anuta_ua [19.1K]

Answer: 3.61 L

Explanation:

To calculate the moles, we use the equation:

moles=\frac{\text {given mass}}{\text {Molar mass}}

moles=\frac{12.26g}{122.6g/mol}=0.1moles

2KClO_3\rightarrow 2KCl+3O_2

2 moles of  KClO_3  produce = 3 moles of  O_2

0.1 moles of  KClO_3 produce = \frac{3}{2}\times 0.1=0.15 moles of    O_2

According to the ideal gas equation:'

PV=nRT

P = Pressure of the gas = 1 atm (NTP)

V= Volume of the gas = ?

T= Temperature of the gas = 20°C = (20+273) K = 293 K    (NTP)

R=  Value of gas constant in in kilopascals = 0.0821 Latm/K mol

1\times V=0.15\times 0.0821\times 293

V=3.61L

Thus volume of oxygen at NTP obtained by decomposing 12.26 g of  KClO_3 is 3.61 L

How much of a 15.0M stock solution do you need to prepare 250ml of a 2.35ml hf solution?
Svetradugi [14.3K]
Using the relationship M1V1 = M2V2 where M1 and M2 are the molar concentrations (mol/L or mmol/ml) and V1 and V2 are the volumes of the solutions, we can arrive at the following answer for the given problem:

<span>15.0M (L of stock solution) =  2.35M (0.25L) *all volumes were converted to liters.

L of stock solution = (2.35*0.25)/15.0

Therefore, 0.0392L or 39.17 ml of stock solution is needed. </span>

A) Suggest one possible reason for the general trend indicated on the graph between 1910 and 2000.?
matrenka [14]
One possible reason for the general tread could be the rise in population and the need to sustain oil production for items and objects dependent upon oil or creation or operation.

It may be sustainable due do the dependence on oil already... Yet could change at any minute due to the use of anything new.

Well, becoming more ecological in nature. Using less plastic and recycling more, getting off of conventional cars, getting more educated about even more techniques.

I hope that may help, if not, just tell me. :D
