If the object sinks, then it must be heavier than the weight of the water
it displaces ... heavier than the buoyant force acting on it.

If the buoyant force were equal or greater than the object's weight, then
the object would rise to the surface in water.

Answer: The buoyant force will be directly proportional to the weight of the object.

F_B=\rho\times \frac{weight}{\rho_o}

Explanation:

The buoyant force acting on the object immersed in liquid is given by:

F_B=\rho gV

\rho = density if the liquid

V = Volume of the liquid displaced by the object

If an object sinks to the bottom of a container filled with water.This mans that volume displaced by the object is equal tho the volume of the object ,V=V_o .

F_B=\rho gV,

F_B=\rho gV_o

Density of the object:

=\rho_o=\frac{\text{mass of the object}}{\text{Volume of the object}(V_o)}

F_B=\rho gV_o=\rho g\frac{Mass}{\rho_o}

Weight of the object =Mass\times g

Since, weight is directly proportional to the mass of the object and mass of the object. So the buoyant force will be directly proportional to the weight of the object.

F_B=\rho\times \frac{weight}{\rho_o}

a 16.0 kg cart is being pulled by a 95.4 N force to the right and a 36.0 N force to the left. What is the acceleration of the ca
Inga [223]

Answer:

The cart's acceleration is \approx 3.71\,\,\frac{m}{s^2}

Explanation:

Let's start by finding the net force acting on the cart, and then find its acceleration using Newton's 2nd Law.

Net force = 95.4 N -36.0 N = 59.4 N

Now, since we know the cart's mass, we can use Newton's 2nd Law to find the cart's acceleration:

F=m\,*\,a\\a=\frac{F}{m} \\a=\frac{59.4}{16} \,\,\frac{m}{s^2} \\a\approx 3.71\,\,\frac{m}{s^2}

The table below shows two types of electromagnetic waves and three random applications of electromagnetic waves.
Musya8 [376]

Answer:

a. Microwaves—3 and infrared waves—1

Explanation:

Microwaves and infrared waves are both part of the electromagnetic spectrum, but they have different frequency and wavelength.

In particular:

- Microwaves are long-wavelength electromagnetic waves, with wavelength between 1 mm and 1 m. Their wavelength is longer than visible light

- Infrared waves are also long-wavelength electromagnetic waves, but their wavelength is shorter than microwaves: between 700 nm and 1 mm. Their wavelength is also longer than visible light.

The two types of waves are also used for different purposes. In particular:

- Infrared waves are emitted by any hot object, and their intensity depends on the temperature of the object. Therefore, they are used in astronomy to show the heat released by astronomical objects (option 1)

- Microwaves are used to study the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB). This is electromagnetic radiation that permeates the whole universe, and its wavelength depends inversely on the local temperature. Therefore, areas with longer wavelength have lower temperature, and viceversa. Therefore, microwaves are used to measure temperature differences in space (option 3).
