I heard of this before I think I know the answers.

1st one, I'm thinking D. Because Turning Liquid into a Solid means like it would take energy out since its freezing.

2nd one, I would choose A
B and C why would they slow down if they were still in a solid. they attracted one another, but they stood still(Didn't move). D is explaining how Liquid turns into a Solid, so this is definitely incorrect. So I would choose A.

I really do hope this helps you out. (Idk about the 1st, but 2nd I think its the answer)

rank the group 1a elements tested in order of increasing energy emission when electrons returns to the ground state. explain thi
labwork [276]

Answer:

  • The increasing order of energy emission is as follow
  •                               Li < Na < K < Rb < Cs

Explanation:

  • The Characteristic colors of alkali metals are
  •                   Li-crimson red
  •                   Na- golden yellow
  •                    K- pale violet
  •                    Rb and Cs- violet
  1. These flame color show that when we moved from down the group, the wavelength decreases (frequency increases).
  2. As the color of Li is red that shows ,it has less emission energy as compare to Rb and Cs that have color violet (more emission energy).

What are the differences between amorphous and crystalline solids? Give an example of each.
Eddi Din [679]

Answer: orderly arrangement of particles

Explanation:

In a crystaline solid, the particles that compose the solid are arranged or packed in an orderly manner to form a three dimensional crystal lattice with a defined structure. Sodium chloride is a crystaline solid.

In an amorphous solid, the particles that compose the solid aren't arranged in an orderly manner hence the solid tends to be brittle, e.g glass

The shielding of electrons gives rise to an effective nuclear charge, Zeff, which explains why boron is larger than oxygen. Esti
Vesna [10]

Zeff = Z - S

Here, Z is the number of protons in the nucleus, that is, atomic number, and S is the number of nonvalence electrons.

For boron, the electronic configuration is 1s₂ 2s₂ 2p₄

Z = 5, S = 2

Zeff = 5-2 = +3

For O, electronic configuration is 1s₂ 2s₂ 2p₄

Z = 8, S = 2

Zeff = 8-2 = +6

Hence, the correct answer is second option, that is, +3 and +6, the Zeff of boron is smaller in comparison to O, thus, boron exhibits a bigger size than O.

For the following reaction, 28.6 grams of zinc oxide are allowed to react with 9.54 grams of water . zinc oxide(s) water(l) zinc
maw [93]

Answer:

34.9 g of Zn(OH)₂ is the maximum mass that can be formed

Explanation:

Let's state the reaction:

ZnO(s)  + H₂O(l) → Zn(OH)₂ (aq)

First of all, we need to determine the moles of each reactant and state the limiting:

28.6 g . 1mol /81.38 g = 0.351 moles of ZnO

9.54 g . 1mol /18 g = 0.53 moles of water

As ratio is 1:1, for 0.53 moles of water, we need 0.53 moles of ZnO, but we only have 0.351, so the limiting reactant is the ZnO.

Ratio with the product is also 1:1. From 0.351 moles of oxide we can produce 0.351 moles of hydroxide. Let's calculate the mass:

0.351 mol . 99.4 g /1mol = 34.9 g
