after punching in the functions:

6x-6+2w=12x+2

subtract 6x for both sides

-6+2w=18x+2

add 6 for both sides

2w=18x+8

You can just subtract 6% from 30% to get the correct percentage decrease because a sales tax is added to the price.

Convert that to a decimal.
