Addign trinomials (2x+4xy+8z)+(8x+5xy+23z) all you have to do is combine the like terms 2x and 8x= 10x, 4xy+5xy=9xy, and 8z+23z=31z. so the simplified answer to adding the trinomials would be 10x+9xy+31z.

Subtacting trinomials (4x+9y+3) - (-1+3x-2y) .
When doing subtracting you still combine like terms but this time you change the sign before every term. If that is confusing, just pretend there is a negative 1 infront of parenthases and multiply that before you subtracts the two trinomials. so...
4x - 3x= x, 9y+2y=11y and 3+1=4. so simplified answer of the subtraction would be x+11y+4

I hope this helped :) Good luck !

Can I get some help been trying to figure this question on but don’t seem to get it.
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer:

  • left box: 25/36
  • right box: 5/6

Step-by-step explanation:

If you square the binomial (x -a), you get ...

  (x -a)² = x² -2ax +a²

Comparing this to your equation, you find that ...

  -2a = -5/3 . . . . . . the x-coefficient

  a = (1/2)(5/3) = 5/6

So, the number in the right box is 5/6, and the number in the left box is its square, (5/6)² = 25/36.

Filling these in, the equation reads:

  x² -5/3x +25/36 = (x -5/6)²

__

That is, the constant in the squared binomial is half the x-coefficient.

The dimensions of a square prism are 2 centimeters by 2 centimeters by 12 centimeters. What is its surface area?
Pani-rosa [81]

Answer:

The  surface area of the square prism is 104\ cm^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The surface area of the square prism is equal to

SA=2b^{2} +4bh

where

b is the length side of the square base

h is the height of the prism

In this problem we have

b=2\ cm

h=12\ cm

substitute

SA=2(2)^{2} +4(2)(12)=104\ cm^{2}
