Answer:

 Work done on the box = 32 J

Explanation:

Work done = Force x Displacement.

Force applied on the box = 16 N

Displacement of box = 2 meter.

Work done on the box = Force applied on the box x  Displacement of box

                                       = 16 x 2 = 32 Nm = 32 J

Work done on the box = 32 J

Richard Julius once made a model plane that could travel a max speed of 110 m/s. Suppose the plane was held in a circular path b
hjlf

Answer:

85.8 m/s

Explanation:

We know that the length of the circular path, L the plane travels is

L = rθ where r = radius of path and θ = angle covered

Now,its speed , v = dL/dt = drθ/dt = rdθ/dt + θdr/dt

where dθ/dt = ω = angular speed = v'/r where v' = maximum speed of plane and r = radius of circular path

Now, from θ = θ₀ + ωt where θ₀ = 0 rad, ω = angular speed  and t = time,

θ = θ₀ + ωt = 0 + ωt = ωt

So, v = rdθ/dt + θdr/dt

v = rω + ωtdr/dt

v = (r + tdr/dt)ω

v = (r + tdr/dt)v'/r

v = v' + tv'/r(dr/dt)

v = v'[1 + t(dr/dt)/r]

Given that v' = 110 m/s, t = 33.0s, r = 120 m and dr/dt = rate at which line is shortened = -0.80 m/s (negative since it is decreasing)

So, v = 110 m/s[1 + 33.0 s(-0.80 m/s)/120 m]

v = 110 m/s[1 + 11.0 s(-0.80 m/s)/40 m]

v = 110 m/s[1 + 11.0 s(-0.02/s)]

v = 110 m/s[1 - 0.22]

v = 110 m/s(0.78)

v = 85.8 m/s

Considered the statement "You can move parts of your body because of energy from the sun. "Described a series of energy conversi
Masja [62]

Answer:

Explanation:

The source of all forms of energy found on the earth except nuclear energy is the sun . So energy used by us to do daily activities also comes from the sun .

The plants trap the solar energy in the form of light to make food material for us like sugar , carbohydrates etc . This energy is stored here in the chemical bonds formed  in them.

We take this food in the form of carbohydrate, fat etc. We digest it to mix this food carbohydrate in blood . It is further broken down on being absorbed by the cell in our body . They break them to produce a compound like ATP ( adenocine triphosphate ) which is energy rich compound . It is converted into ADP and difference of energy is released . This energy is used by us in moving body parts.

Consider an eraser, weighing 20g, sitting 5cm from the center of a turntable (flat disk attached to a motor which can spin the d
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

A. 42.3 revolution per minute

B. Centripetal Force

Explanation:

20 g = 0.02 kg

5 cm = 0.05 m

Let g = 9.8 m/s2

A.The friction force acting on the eraser is the product of normal force and its coefficient:

F_f = N\mu = mg\mu = 0.02*9.8*0.1 = 0.0196 N

For the eraser to begin slipping, its centripetal acceleration must win over the acceleration created by friction force, which is

a_f = F_f / m = 0.0196 / 0.02 = 0.98 m/s^2 = a_c

We can calculate the angular velocity from this:

a_c = \omega^2 r

where r = 0.05 is the radius of rotation, which is distance from the center to the eraser

\omega^2 = a_c/r = 0.98 / 0.05 = 19.6

\omega = \sqrt{19.6} = 4.43 rad/s

If it spins and angle of 4.43 rad per second then for every minute (60 seconds) it would spin an angle of 4.43 * 60 = 265.6 rad/min

Since 1 revolution is 2π rad, then in a minute it would spin 265.6 / 2π = 42.3 revolution/minute

B. The force responsible for making the eraser go faster while the turntable is spinning up would be the centripetal force.
