Let x = greatest number of people they can invite , then:-

35 x + 100 ≤ 4500

35x ≤ 4400

x  ≤  125.7

so the answer is 125 people

What I did was I subtracted 4500 minus 500 because it was a fee then I divide 4400 by 35 and I got 125 people.

Helene claimed that the expected value when rolling a fair die was 3.5. Steve said that wasn't possible. He said that the expect
Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

Helene is right

Step-by-step explanation:

Mathematically, the expected values is defined as the sum of all the possible outcomes that an event can have times the probality of the respective outcome:

x = ∑ p *i,

where x is the expected value, i represents every outcome that can occur, and p is the probability of said outcome.

Now, for the case of a dice, the expected value would be:

x = 1 * \frac{1}{6} + 2 * \frac{1}{6} + 3 * \frac{1}{6} + 4 * \frac{1}{6} + 5* \frac{1}{6} + 6 * \frac{1}{6},

as every outcome has the same chance of happenning. Solving we get that:

x= \frac{1}{6} *(1 +2 +3 +4+5+6) = \frac{1}{6} * 21 = 3.5

Helene is right.

Negative five times a number, x, decreased by the product of two and the quantity of x increased by three is less than or equal
astra-53 [7]

Left Side

if x = a number

five times a number means 5 · a number = 5 · x

add a negative sign; -5·x

simplify; you don't need the multiplication symbol; -5x

minus 2·x = -2x

plus 3 = +3

-5n-2x+3

Sign

less than or equal to = ≤

Right Side

triple of x = 3·x = 3x

4 minus triple of x = 4-3x

4-3x

The final inequality is -5x-2x+3 ≤ 4-3x

♡ Hope this helps! ♡
