Let x = greatest number of people they can invite , then:-

35 x + 100 ≤ 4500

35x ≤ 4400

x  ≤  125.7

so the answer is 125 people

What I did was I subtracted 4500 minus 500 because it was a fee then I divide 4400 by 35 and I got 125 people.

KIM [24]

Answer:

  (5, 8), (7, 1), (15, 3)

Step-by-step explanation:

a) The variables are defined in the problem statement. The total expenditure must satisfy ...

  2.00x +3.50y ≤ 42.00

b) Possible solutions include ...

 (x, y) ∈ {(5, 8), (7, 1), (15, 3)}

A group of 18 people ordered soup and sandwiches for lunch. Each person in the group either ordered one soup or one sandwich . T
kkurt [141]
Let's say a = number of ordered soups, b = number of ordered sandwiches.

Then 4.5a + 7.75b = 113.50, and a and b are integers between 0 and 18 inclusive.

How do we tackle this? If all ordered soup, the cost would be $81, so we'll have at least 4 sandwiches. If all ordered sandwich, the cost would be $139.5, so at most 15 sandwiches were ordered. You also know an even number of sandwiches was ordered, to let the price end at 50 cent.

If you brute-force from 4,6,8,10,12 to 14 sandwiches, you find the answer at 10 sandwiches and 8 soups.

10*7.75 + 8*4.50 = 113.50

qwelly [4]

Answer: 30,000 months or 2,500 years

She'd better start saving more haha.

Step-by-step explanation:

Goal=4.2x10^6\\Savings/month=1.4x10^2

\frac{4.2x10^6}{1.4x10^2} =(\frac{4.2}{1.4})x10^(^6^-^2^)=(3)x10^4=3x10^4 =30000 months=\frac{30000}{12}=2500years
