Why are you allowed to move the decimal points before dividing with decimals? Explain your reasoning.
madam [21]

If you move the decimal point the same number of places in the dividend and the divisor, you are multiplying them both by the same power of 10. That does not change the quotient.

Star Wars land encompasses an area of 14.0 acres. [1.00 acre = 4046.86m2]. If Star Wars land were made into a circle, what would
Free_Kalibri [48]

Answer:

<h3>The answer is 134.29 m</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

First of all we need to convert 14.0 acres to m²

1.00 acre = 4046.86 m²

14.0 acres = 14 × 4046.86 = 56656.04 m²

Area of a circle = πr²

where

r is the radius

To find the radius substitute the value for the area into the above formula and solve for the radius

That's

56656.04 = \pi {r}^{2}

Divide both sides by π

We have

{r}^{2}  =  \frac{56656.04}{\pi}

Find the square root of both sides

r =  \sqrt{ \frac{56656.04}{\pi} }

r = 134.29139

r = 134.29 m to 2 decimal places

Hope this helps you

Help me on number 12 13 14 and 15
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

12. 1.625 [terminating]; 13. 0.83 [bar notation over 3 (repeating)]; 14. 900 cm = 9 m; 15. 0.23 cm = 2.3 mm

Repeating decimals are parts of decimals that have repetitive digits; terminating decimals are decimals whose digits end.

Whether you are using Metric or Imperial, you have to determine whether you are going from a small unit to a big unit or vice versa. Then perform your operation. So, in exercise 14, the smaller unit is centimeters, so you would be going from big to small. Exercise 15 has you going from small to big.

There are centimeters in one meter, so multiply 9 by to get 900 centimeters.

There are 10 millimeters in one centimeter, so divide 2.3 by 10 simply by moving the decimal point ONCE to the left [Power of 10].

small to BIG → Division

BIG to small → Multiplication

I am joyous to assist you anytime.
