The answer is number 4 "You have $60 to spend on hats at the mall, but you need to save at least $7 for lunch. You plan to spend the rest on hats that cost $15 each including tax"
60-$15x refers to "you have $60 to spend on hats" and "to spend the rest on hats" while <7 for ''save at least $7 for lunch"

If one measurement of a golden rectangle is 5.9 inches, what is the other measurement? A 7.518 C 9.546 B 4.282 D 1.618
Sloan [31]
The golden ratio is (1+√5)/2

If 5.9 is the smaller side, 9.546 is the larger side...

If 5.9 is the larger side, 1.618 is the smaller side...

I am unsure of how we are supposed to assume that 5.9 is supposed to be the larger or smaller side....

Simplify to create an equivalent expression (2j+1)9-7j
sveta [45]

Answer:

Simplifying

(2j + 1) * 9 + -7j = 0

Reorder the terms:

(1 + 2j) * 9 + -7j = 0

Reorder the terms for easier multiplication:

9(1 + 2j) + -7j = 0

(1 * 9 + 2j * 9) + -7j = 0

(9 + 18j) + -7j = 0

Combine like terms: 18j + -7j = 11j

9 + 11j = 0

Solving

9 + 11j = 0

Solving for variable 'j'.

Move all terms containing j to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '-9' to each side of the equation.

9 + -9 + 11j = 0 + -9

Combine like terms: 9 + -9 = 0

0 + 11j = 0 + -9

11j = 0 + -9

Combine like terms: 0 + -9 = -9

11j = -9

Divide each side by '11'.

j = -0.8181818182

Simplifying

j = -0.8181818182

Is the ordered pair (8, 4.5) a solution to the function y=3/4x-1/2?
Pie

To determine whether or not (8, 4.5) is a solution to y=3/4x-1/2, substitute 8 for x and 4.5 for y:

4.5 = (3/4)(8) - (1/2)

4.5 = 6 -        0.5

4.5 = 5.5

No, (8, 4.5) is not a solution of the given function.
