The biking portion of the triathlon is 11.7 miles far

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us revise the relation between the two legs of a right triangle and

the hypotenuse

Hypotenuse = \sqrt{(leg_{1})^{2}+(leg_{2})^{2}}

To find the length of the hypotenuse

1. Square the length of each leg

2. Add the squares of the legs

3. Find the square root of the sum

∵ The legs of the triangle consist of a 4 mile  swim and a 11 mile run

∴ leg_{1} = 4

∴ leg_{2} = 11

∵ ( leg_{1} )² = (4)² = 16

∵ ( leg_{2} )² = (11)² = 121

∴ ( leg_{1} )² + ( leg_{2} )² = 16 + 121 = 137

∵ The hypotenuse of  the triangle is the biking portion of the  event

∵ Hypotenuse = \sqrt{(leg_{1})^{2}+(leg_{2})^{2}}

∴ Hypotenuse = \sqrt{137} = 11.7

The biking portion of the triathlon is 11.7 miles far

What is the difference? x+5/x+2-x+1/x2+2x
Mrac [35]

Question

x+5/x+2 - x+1/x²+2x

Answer:

= (x² - 4x - 1)/[x (x+2)]

= (x² - 4x - 1)/[x² + 2x]

Step-by-step explanation:

x + 5/x + 2 - x + 1/x² + 2x

We factorise the second denominator to give us :

x + 5/x + 2 - x + 1/x(x + 2)

We find the L.C.M of both denominators which is x(x+2).

[x(x + 5)-(x + 1)] / (x (x + 2))

Expand the bracket

=[x² +5x - x -1] / [x (x + 2)]

=(x² - 4x - 1) / [x (x + 2)]

= (x² - 4x - 1)/ [x (x + 2)]

= (x² - 4x - 1) / [x² + 2x]

The standard tip in a restaurant is 15% of the bill before tax. Many people in California find the tip by doubling the sales tax
cricket20 [7]
To answer this you could do a couple things. 1. Actually calculate both tips and then subtract them. Here is the math ( assuming it is $60, not 60% that you mean). a. 0.15 x 60 = $9. b. 0.0825 x 2 x 60=$9.90. c. 9.90-9.00= $0.90 difference.

The other strategy would be to find the difference on the percents and then multiply by $60. a. 8.25%x2=16.5%-15%. Difference of 1.5%. b. 0.015 x $60=$0.90.

BRAINLIEST if correct + small explanation
astraxan [27]

Answer is 280

First, find A = 35% (100% less the three known percents = 35

Second, find ratio of B
20% of x = 160
Divide 160/.20 to isolate x
X=800 (total biscuits)
Now take A percentage x 800 biscuits
800 x 35% = 280 people chose biscuit A
