Modeled after the two satellites problem (slide 12 in Lecture13, Universal gravity), imagine now if the period of the satellite
ikadub [295]

Answer:

  R = 6.3456 10⁴  mile

Explanation:

For this exercise we will use Newton's second law where force is gravitational force

      F = m a

The satellite is in a circular orbit therefore the acceleration is centripetal

      a = v² / r

Where the distance is taken from the center of the Earth

     G m M / r² = m v² / r

     G M / r = v²

The speed module is constant, let's use the uniform motion relationships, with the length of the circle is

     d = 2π  r

     v = d / t

The time for a full turn is called period (T)

Let's replace

     G M / r = (2π r / T)²

     r³ = G M T²²2 / 4π²

     r = ∛ (G M T² / 4π²)

We have the magnitudes in several types of units

      T = 88.59 h (3600 s / 1h) = 3.189 10⁵ s

      Re = 6.37 10⁶ m

Let's calculate

     r = ∛ (6.67 10⁻¹¹ 5.98 10²⁴ (3,189 10⁵)²/4π²)

     r = ∛ (1.027487 10²⁴)

     r = 1.0847 10⁸ m

This is the distance from the center of the Earth, the distance you want the surface is

     R = r - Re

     R = 108.47 10⁶ - 6.37 10⁶

     R = 102.1 10⁶ m

Let's reduce to miles

      R = 102.1 10⁶ m (1 mile / 1609 m)

      R = 6.3456 10⁴  mile

How does the gravitational force between two objects change if the distance between the objects doubles?
Ymorist [56]

if the distance between the objects is doubled the force is reduced by a factor of 4

Whats is gravitational force?

Gravitational force is the force of attraction between objects in the universe.

f = G * m1 * m2 / r^2

f = gravitational force

G = gravitational constant

m1 = mass of object 1

m2 = mass of object 2

r = distance between the objects

From the formular, the gravitational force and the distance is an inverse relationship so increasing the distance by a factor results to reduction of the force by the square of the factor. hence doubling the distance which is distance mutiplied by 2 will lead to reduction of the force by 2^2 = 4

Therefore: The force decreases by a factor of 4.

hope it helps

A rectangular coil with sides 0.130 m by 0.250 m has 513 turns of wire. It is rotated about its long axis in a uniform magnetic
Sonbull [250]
Voltage = N * Δ(BA)/Δt
BA = 0.57*0.16*0.22 = 2.0064e-2
N = 505
115/505 = Δ(BA)/Δt = 23/101
When the top of the coil rotates to the bottom (1/2 half cycle) BA changes from max to min and when the bottom rotates back to the top BA changes from min to max. So Δ(BA) is twice per cycle
So 2*101Δ(BA)=23Δt and Δt = 1/f
202*2.0064e-2/23 =Δt = 1/f => f =5.675Hz
