A rectangular coil with sides 0.130 m by 0.250 m has 513 turns of wire. It is rotated about its long axis in a uniform magnetic

field of 0.550 T that is perpendicular to the long axis. At what frequency, in complete cycles per second, must the coil be rotated for it to generate a maximum voltage of 115 V?

Voltage = N * Δ(BA)/Δt
<span>BA = 0.57*0.16*0.22 = 2.0064e-2 </span>
<span>N = 505 </span>
<span>115/505 = Δ(BA)/Δt = 23/101 </span>
<span>When the top of the coil rotates to the bottom (1/2 half cycle) BA changes from max to min and when the bottom rotates back to the top BA changes from min to max. So Δ(BA) is twice per cycle </span>
<span>So 2*101Δ(BA)=23Δt and Δt = 1/f </span>
<span>202*2.0064e-2/23 =Δt = 1/f => f =5.675Hz</span>

A planet or butting a distant star has been observed to have an orbital period of 0.76 earth years at a distance of 1.2 au. What
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

The mass of the star is, M = 5.9567x10³⁰ Kg

Explanation:

Given

The orbital period of the planet, T = 0.76 year

                                                        = 2.3967x10⁷ seconds

The distance between planet and sun, R+h = 1.2 a.u

                                                                        = 1.795 x 10¹¹ meters

The orbital period of the planet is given by the formula

                                 T={2\pi\sqrt{\frac{(R+h)^{2}}{GM}}}

Squaring and solving for M

                                   M=\frac{4\pi ^{2} (R+h)^{3}}{GT^{2} }

Substituting the given values in the above equation

                          M=\frac{4\pi ^{2}(1.795X10^{11} )^{3} }{6.673X10^{-11}X(2.3967X10^{7})^{2}}

                                     M = 5.9567 x 10³⁰ Kg

Hence, the mass of the star the planet is orbiting, M = 5.9567 x 10³⁰ Kg

How do you find the change in potential energy
ratelena [41]

P.E = mgh

This is the formula for potential energy.

This is where m is mass, g is the acceleration due to gravity, and h is height.

All you have to do is multiply all these numbers together.

notka56 [123]

Explanation:

A metal such as copper is a <u>conductor</u> because it provides a pathway for electric charges to move easily. A material such as rubber is an <u>insulator</u> because it <u>resists</u> the flow of electric charges. A material that partially conducts electric current is a <u>semiconductor</u>. These materials include <u>group 3 and group 5</u> elements.
