Which statement is true about the centripetal force acting on a body moving at a constant speed in a circle?

Answer: C. It has a centripetal force that is directed radially and inward.

Explanation:

When a body moves in circle at constant speed, the body due its inertia tends to keep it moving forward. It is kept in the circumference by the centripetal force towards the center of the circle i.e. acting radially inwards.

So, the balance between inertia and centripetal force keeps the body moving in the circle at constant speed.

Answer: option C.

In fact that is the definition of centripetal force.

A force acting over an object in motion will make that the object change its velocity. If the force is perpendicular to the velocity, then the object will  change the direction of the velocity. If the force is constant then the change in velocity is continuos and uniform which will make a uniform circular movement.

A 0.12 g honeybee acquires a charge of +24pC while flying. The earth's electric field near the surface is typically 100 N/C, dow
shusha [124]

Answer:

150000000

\dfrac{F_e}{F_g}=0.00000203873598369

49050000 N/C

Explanation:

q = Charge = 24 pC

m = Mass of honeybee = 0.12 g

E = Electric field = 100 N/C

g = Acceleration due to gravity = 9.81 m/s²

1\ C=6.25\times 10^{18}\ electrons

Number electrons is

n=24\times 10^{-12}\times 6.25\times 10^{18}\\\Rightarrow n=150000000

The number of electrons added or removed was 150000000

Force is given by

F_e=Eq\\\Rightarrow F_e=100\times 24\times 10^{-12}\\\Rightarrow F_e=2.4\times 10^{-9}\ N

The ratio is

\dfrac{F_e}{F_g}=\dfrac{2.4\times 10^{-9}}{0.12\times 10^{-3}\times 9.81}\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{F_e}{F_g}=0.00000203873598369

The ratio is \dfrac{F_e}{F_g}=0.00000203873598369

Balancing the forces we get

Eq=mg\\\Rightarrow E=\dfrac{mg}{q}\\\Rightarrow E=\dfrac{0.12\times 10^{-3}\times 9.81}{24\times 10^{-12}}\\\Rightarrow E=49050000\ N/C

The electric field required is 49050000 N/C

Answer:

LED run before the batteries are depleted is 3.87 hours

Explanation:

given data

battery = 4 AA

battery is rated = 1.2V, 2550 mAh

power = 3 W

efficient = 95%

to find out

How long will the LED run before the batteries are depleted

solution

we consider here power delivered by battery is = x

so power = x × efficient

3 = x 95%

x = 3.15 W

and

voltage by 4 battery is = 4 × 1.2 = 4.8 V

so current will be = \frac{x}{volatge}

current = \frac{3.15}{4.8}

current = 0.6577 A

so total discharge hours = \frac{2550}{current}

total discharge hours = \frac{2550}{657.7}

time = 3.87 hours

so LED run before the batteries are depleted is 3.87 hours
