This figure is of the water cycle. Arrow 3 is demonstrating precipitation. It is showing the passage of water (it looks like rain) down from a cloud and into the body of water. Precipitation occurs when the droplets of water that make up a cloud get too heavy and begin to fall to the earth, where they can absorb into the ground or return to the ocean.
