A

Explanation:

The genome of prokaryotes has no introns hence their mRNA does not need splicing like in eukaryotic cells. Also, because the genome of prokaryotes is not delimited from the cytoplasm by a nuclear membrane, ribosomes can attach to the elongating mRNA during transcription and begin translation. Therefore translation of mRNA occurs concurrently with transcription which cannot happen with eukaryotic cells.

In the nucleus of eukaryotic cells, transcription results to a nascent mRNA which is spliced into a mature mRNA.The mature mRNA has to travel outside the nucleus to the cytoplasm to be translated by ribosomes.

Which statements about wind are true? Check all that apply.
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer:

  • The wind is caused by differences in air pressure.
  • An anemometer is a tool for measuring wind speed.
  • The wind-chill factor has a cooling effect

Explanation:

Winds move from areas of high pressure to areas  of low pressure. This is because the areas of low pressure are composed of hotter and less dense air. The cooler air from the higher pressure region rushes in to displaces the rising warm less dense air. The direction from which the winds prevail FROM is used to name the winds(such as westerlies blow from West to East). A wind vane, windsock and anemometer measure the direction and speed of wind. As wind passes over the skin, it causes a cooling effect (the wind chill factor) because it blows the sweat away from the skin carrying with it the heat.

Muscle responds a stimulus which is capable of  generating action potential. Muscle response is in a way of "ALL or NONE". Muscle response to greater stimulus by recruiting more muscle fibers.

A) At threshold there would be only a small proportion of muscle is contracting.

B) At maximal stimulus the maximum number (100%) of recruitable fibers are contrating.

C) The number of recruitable fibers can't increase above maximal stimulus because already the maximum number of recruitable fibers are contracting.
