Answer:

The correct answer is:

$19,000 decrease (a)

Explanation:

To calculate this, we have to calculate the total cost involved, when the product was manufactured and when it was purchased and calculate the difference in cost.

Note also that when calculating cost for manufacturing, you do not add fixed overhead costs because they are not costs associated with the direct manufacture of a product, rather, they are costs associated with the day to day running of the business, example here may be the electricity used in the factory.

Total manufacturing cost ($);

Direct materials =           150,000

Direct labor        =           170,000

variable overhead =         70,000

Total                   =           $390,000

Total purchase cost ($)

1 component = $14

∴ 30,000 components = 30,000 × 14 = 420,000

if the facilities are rented out for $11,000, Damon could use the money for the purchase too, therefore effective cost for purchase;

= 420,000 - 11, 0000 = $409,000.

Now finding the difference between the two costs;

cost of purchase       = $ 409,000

Cost of manufacture = $ 390,000

difference                  = $19,000

since the cost of purchase of the components is more than the cost of manufacturing by $19,000, it means that the operating profits will reduce by  $19,000 if Damon chooses to purchase the components

Three years ago, you invested $3,350.00. Today, it is worth $4,100.00. What rate of interest did you earn
Anastasy [175]

Answer:

6.97%

Explanation:

the formula to be used is

The formula for calculating future value:

FV = P (1 + r)^n

FV = Future value

P = Present value

R = interest rate

N = number of years

$4,100.00 = $3,350.00 x ( 1 + r)^3

divide both sides of the equation by $3,350.00

$4,100.00 / $3,350.00 = ( 1 + r)^3

1.223881 = ( 1 + r)^3

find the cube root of both sides

1.069661 = 1 + r

r = 6.97%

Hull Company’s record of transactions concerning part X for the month of April was as follows.
olga55 [171]

Answer:1. $7720

2. $7945

3. $7758

Explanation: 1. First in First out method which means the first inventory to be purchased by company will be the first to be sold.

Total cost of Sales   = Total number of units Sold * Total Cost of inventory sold

                                  = 100units*$5+ 300units*$5.30+ 200units*$5.35 + 450units*$5.60

                                   =$7720

Total units sold=1450  we started from first inventory which was the balance of inventory of 100 units downwards up to the 1450th unit sold that was purchased on the 26th of April by the company.

2. Last in first out method is where the last bought inventory is sold first.

Total cost of sales= Total number of units sold * Total cost of units sold =200units$*5.80+ 600units*$5.60+ 200units*$5.35+300units*$5.30+150units*$5.1

=$7945

Total units sold still 1450 but we calculated the cost from the last purchased unit from 30th April to the 1450th unit sold which was on the 12th of April.

3. Average Cost = (Sum of all costs/Total number of costs)* total units sold

                     = (($5+$5.1+$5.3+$5.35+$5.6+$5.8)/6)* 1450

=$7769.58

Fofino [41]

Answer: Net capital outflow is determined by the real interest rate, not the real exchange rate

Explanation:

In the foreign-currency market, the supply of dollars is not dependent on the real exchange rate and so the supply curve will be vertical to indicate this independence by showing inelasticity which means that it is unaffected by the variables in the foreign-currency market.

Supply of dollars is rather dependent on the real interest rate.

This is because dollars get into the world economy (supply of dollars) as a result of investments by Americans into markets abroad in the form of Net Capital Outflow. If American real interest rate is low, Americans will invest in other countries with a higher rate of return thereby pumping more dollars into the world economy.
