Which of the following sets of numbers could be the lengths of the sides of a triangle? A. 3 ft, 6 ft, 9 ft B. 3 ft, 5 ft, 7 ft
Whitepunk [10]
Answer:
B. 3 ft, 5 ft and 7 ft

Explanation:
In any triangle, the sum of any two sides must be greater that the third one.

Therefore, to know if the given sides represent a triangle or not, all what we will do is add the two short sides and compare the result to the largest one.
We would have 3 options:
sum of short sides > longest side ......> It is a triangle
sum of short sides < longest side ......> It is not a triangle
sum of short sides = longest sides ....> It is not a triangle

Now, for the given:
1- Option A:
sum of short sides = 3 + 6 = 9 ft which is equal to the longest side
This option is incorrect

2- Option B:
sum of short sides = 3 + 5 = 8 ft which is greater than the longest side
This option is correct

3- Option C:
sum of short sides = 3 + 6 = 9 ft which is less than the longest side
This option is incorrect

4- Option D:
sum of short sides = 3 + 9 = 12 ft which is less than the longest side
This option is incorrect

Based on the above, the only correct option is B.

Hope this helps :)

Hello hope your day is well i really need help with this expand question 4(a+5)-2(a-5)
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

2a + 30

Step-by-step explanation:

break it down so it is 4(a+5)

then work out -2(a-5)

so 4 x a then 4 x 5 which gives 4a + 20

then -2 x a then -2 x -5 which gives -2a + 10

then when you have 4a + 20 -2a + 10

do 4a - 2a which is 2a

do 20 + 10 which is 30

so the answer comes to 2a + 30

if anything doesnt seem right just comment and i will correct

hope this helps :)

The average time taken to complete a test follows normal probability distribution with a mean of 70 minutes and a standard devia
Dimas [21]
Under 45 mins is roughly 16%. This is because 68% of the curve exists within 1 SD of the mean. So 16% must be outside and smaller and 16% outside and larger (on average).

It is impossible to determine how likely you are to find someone with exactly the second amount. However, if you are looking for that or less, you would get 84%
