You simplify fractions with whole numbers by converting them into a improper fraction. Then you can simplify at that point. Finally, you can convert the fraction back to a whole number fraction.

Pepsi [2]
<span>1 pound = 16 ounces
so 60 pounds = 60 x 16 = 960 ounces.
$6.60/960 =0.006875 per ounce.
0.006875 x 16 ounces = 0.11 (11 cents per pound)

<span>3 pounds x 0.11= 33 cents

Calculate the constant of variation if y varies directly as x.
luda_lava [24]

Answer:

Option A is correct.

The constant of variation is, -\frac{3}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

The Direct variation says that:

if a vary directly to b then, the equation is of the form: a = kb where k is the constant of variation.

Given: if y varies directly as x.

By definition of direct Variation:

y = kx  where is the constant of variation.

It is also given that: y = -3 and x =2

Solve for k;

-3 = 2k

Divide both sides by 2 we have;

k = -\frac{3}{2}

Therefore, the constant of variation is, -\frac{3}{2}

Graph the function with the given domain. Then identify the range of the function. y = -6; domain: x ≥ 5
hjlf

Answer: Plot a point at (-6,5) then just go start up. That is your graph

Step-by-step explanation:

Range is left to right so that means that the only point on the x axsis you can plot is -6 and the domain is up and down so you cant plot a point below 5
