2(3x - 1) + 2(4x + 5) = 8

Distribute the 2's inside their respective parentheses.

6x - 2 + 8x + 10 = 8

Combine like terms (6x + 8x) and (-2 + 10).

14x + 8 = 8

Subtract 8 from both sides.

14x = 0

Divide both sides by 14.

\boxed {x=0}

Suppose that a person's peak blood alcohol level is 0.07 (grams per 100 mL) and that this level decreases by 40% each hour.
Natalija [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Considering a person peak blood is 0.07

It decrease by 4% every hour

a) Using exponential function

f(x) = Ca^x

where,

a = 1 + r

r = -0.40%

Here,

C = 0.07,

a = 1 - 0.04 = 0.06

f(x)=0.07(0.6)^x

<h3>Therefore, hourly decay factor is 0.6</h3>

b)

Here the hourly decay factor is 0.6

B(x)=ca^x\\\\0.07(0.6)^x

c) Evaluate

B(2)=0.07\times (0.6)^2\\\\0.07(0.36)\\\\= 0.0252g

0.0252g or 100mL

<h3>Thus, after 2 hours the blood is 0.0252g or 100mL</h3>

Trigonometric identities assignment 4
kykrilka [37]

Answer:

<em>Answer: choice D.</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Trigonometric Functions</u>

We need to recall some properties and definitions of the trigonometric functions.

\displaystyle \tan \theta=\frac{\sin\theta}{\cos\theta}

\displaystyle \sec \theta=\frac{1}{\cos\theta}

We need to simplify the following expression:

5\sin\theta\sec\theta

Substituting the identity for the secant:

\displaystyle 5\sin\theta\sec\theta=5\sin\theta.\frac{1}{\cos\theta}

Operating:

\displaystyle 5\sin\theta\sec\theta=5\frac{\sin\theta}{\cos\theta}

Substituting the definition of the tangent:

\displaystyle 5\sin\theta\sec\theta=5\tan\theta

Correct choice D.

How do you graph y=-10x+200 ?
sp2606 [1]

Answer:

your slope is -10, and the y-intercept is 200

Step-by-step explanation:

Start at (0,200), or just 200 on the y axis. your slope is -10, or -10/200 in rise over run form. you want to go to the right one, and down 10. So make a dot at (0,200), then (1,190), then (2,180) and so on. to go in the negatives it is the opposite. left one, then up 10, so (-1, 210), then (-2,220) and so on.
