Answer:

True

Explanation:

Testosterone is the primary male sex hormone. It is produced by the Leydig cells of the testis. The testosterone produced by both males and females. The amount is more male than females. In females, testosterone is in the form of androgen hormone.

The anterior pituitary secretes 2 hormones i.e. LH and FSH. The luteinizing hormone from the pituitary gland enters into the interstitial space of the testis. In the interstitial space, Leydig cells are present, which are the target organ for LH. The LH stimulates the Leydig cells to produce testosterone. Hence Leydig cells are also called interstitial cells.

Testosterone secretes from the Leydig cells of the testis and mixes with the bloodstream. It produces in the presence of LH. Then it reaches to different cells of the body by the bloodstream. Testosterone maintains bone and muscle growth, induces the secondary sexual characters.

When testosterone level is high in the blood, it sends a signal to the brain to decrease the secretion of testosterone. This is the negative feedback mechanism of testosterone.

Krill in this food web is the primary consumer. Since the producer of the food web is the phytoplankton. Removing them from the food chain cuts the supply of food for secondary consumers such as seals, and whales. This disrupts the whole Antartic ecosystem since there will be a large amount of phytoplankton but not enough food for secondary consumers. This because secondary consumers are not able to eat phytoplankton due to their microscopic size. Only krill are able to feed on them and have the maximum energy gain from them.

In most normal human somatic cells, telomeres shorten with each division. In stem cells and in cancer cells, however, telomere l
julia-pushkina [17]

Answer:

Provides both the RNA and the polymerase needed for synthesis

Explanation:

Telomerase is an enzyme which extends the telomere sequences present at the end of the chromosomes. The telomerase enzyme acts as DNA polymerase as well as provides the RNA which serves as a template strand rather than the primer.

The polymerase acts as a reverse transcriptase enzyme and synthesizes the DNA strand from the  RNA template. Since the telomerase provides RNA and acts as DNA polymerase, therefore, it is known as the ribonucleoprotein molecule.

Thus, the selected option is correct.

What is the mass of all the worker bees in the hive together? Write your answer in scientific notation.
Lisa [10]

Answer:

4 × 10^0 kg or 4×E0 kg.

Explanation:

Before delving into or solving the Calculation, let us check one or two things about worker bees.

WHAT IS A WORKER BEE?.

Bees generally are social insects living in an organized community and they consist of three castes which include; the drone bees, worker bees, and the queen bees.

The queen bees are the female bees while the drone bees are the male bees.

The WORKER BEES are female bees too, but the only difference between them and the queen bees is that they (worker bees) do not reproduce like the queen bees. They are saddled with the responsibility of looking for food and maintaining the hive temperature.

Now to the question, the mass of a bee= 1 × 10^-4 kg. And there are 4 × 10^4 bees in hive. Therefore, the mass of all the worker bees in the hive together = (1 × 10^-4) × (4×10^4).

==> 4 × 10^0 kg, or 4E0 kg.
