The flexible muscles allow a fluidity in the execution of the movements and a greater mobility of the articulations. Good flexibility reduces the risk of injury because a soft muscle responds better to sudden stretching. Having good muscular flexibility helps to maintain a good posture.

It is important to know that there are better times for stretching. Often, after intense interval or long distance running, the muscle fibers may have microdissections. It is then recommended to wait at least four hours after an intense effort and 24 hours after a very intense effort.
