The flexible muscles allow a fluidity in the execution of the movements and a greater mobility of the articulations. Good flexibility reduces the risk of injury because a soft muscle responds better to sudden stretching. Having good muscular flexibility helps to maintain a good posture.

It is important to know that there are better times for stretching. Often, after intense interval or long distance running, the muscle fibers may have microdissections.
