Answer:

Cell membrane is a semi-permeable membrane that surrounds the cytoplasm.

Explanation:

Archea contains only 1 cell and they are prokaryotic organisms. They have a different molecular setting, thus making them different from bacteria.

Cell membrane of Archea:

  • In archeal cell membrane, isoprene chains are connected to glycerol lipid monolayer,
  • The cell membrane is either lipid bi layer or lipid mono layer.
  • Archeal cell wall contains pseudo peptidoglycan.

Cell Membrane of Bacteria:

  • In bacteria, the fatty acid chains are linked to glycerol.
  • The cell membrane is a lipid bilayer.
  • Bacterial wall contains peptidoglycans.

An Archaea is a single celled prokaryote whose cell lack a defined nucleus or membrane-bound organelles like mitochondria and Golgi apparatus. An Archaea has a distinct molecular characteristics differentiating it from a bacteria.they reproduce asexually through binary fission and have a distinct feature of being able to survive in extreme hot environment.

General characteristics found in the Archaeal cell membrane include;

- The bilayer in the cell membrane of an Archaea has ether bond giving it the ability to resist chemical activities and as such survive in extreme environments. Unlike the bilayer in bacteria and eukaryotes that have ester bond.

- The cell membrane is stiff with a flat,rod-like or cubic shape

- Their cell membrane lies inside the cell wall controlling the exchange of substances between the cell and it's environment.

- The cell membrane of an Archaea uses long isoprenoid chains to make its unique phospholipids with fatty acids.

BACTERIA- A single celled prokaryote without a nucleus . Bacteria have varying shapes ranging from rod, spherical, spiral and comma shape.

General characteristics of a bacteria cell membrane include;

- The nucleoid of a bacteria has circular DNA.

- A bacteria lack membrane bound organelles example mitochondria and Golgi apparatus.

- Bacteria has a cell wall and a flagella which helps them too move.

viva [34]

Answer:

Brunner's gland

Explanation:

Brunner's gland also called duodenal glands are the portion of duodenum that is present above the sphinter.

Function of Brunner's gland -

The main function of Brunner's gland is to secrete mucus - rich alkaline secretion ( mucous ), that contain bicarbonate.

The secreted mucous is used for -

1. The protection of the stomach from the acidic content of chyme.

2. Create an alkaline medium for to activate the intestinal enzymes.

3. lubricate the intestinal walls.

Gwar [14]

Answer:

She tires easily due to the lacking oxygen.

Explanation:

Kerrie's mucus and coughing is a reaction from her body trying to fight something that her body recognizes as a treat for her immune system. As she is producing a lot of mucus and coughing while practicing a sport, she is not inhaling the necessary oxygen that her muscles need to perform this activity well, as a result, she gets tired.

Non-functional organelles can be broken down and essentially recycled by _______ within the cell.
yKpoI14uk [10]

Answer: Option B. "Lysosomes"

Explanation:

Lysosomes are defined as the organelles that act as cell’s recycling center which dispose and digest unwanted carbohydrates, lipids, protein, RNA, and DNA in the cell, one of the major role of lysosomes in the cell.

Lysosome is acidic from inside that contains many enzymes helps in breaking down unwanted molecules. recycling function is initiated by the procsess called autophagy, which allows the cell digests itself due to under stress and when cell undergoes senescence (growth arrest) to preserve energy with the help of enzymes present in it.

In this way the lysosome engulfs external particles and converts it into useful substances like protein, fat and sugar.

Hence, the correct option is B.
