The sound source of a ship's sonar system operates at a frequency of 18.0 kHzkHz . The speed of sound in water (assumed to be at

a uniform 20∘C)∘C) is 1482 m/sm/s. The ship is at rest in the water.
(a) What is the wavelength of the waves emitted by the source?
(b) What is the difference in frequency between the directly radiated waves and the waves reflected from a whale traveling directly toward the ship at 4.95 m/s? The ship is at rest in the water.

Answer:

Explanation:

a ) wave length of waves in water

= velocity / frequency

= 1482 / (18 x 1000)

= .0823 m

= 8.23 cm

b ) Applying Doppler's effect relation

frequency of reflected wave

= 18000 [ 1482 / (1482 - 4.95 ) ]

= 18000 x 1.003385

= 18061

Difference in frequency= 61 Hz

A truck traveling at a velocity of 33m/s comes to a halt by decelerating at 11m/s^2. How far does the truck travel in the proces
snow_lady [41]

Answer:

The truck was moving 16.5 m/s during the time it took to stop, which was 3 seconds.

 • Initial velocity = 33 m/s
 • Final velocity = 0 m/s
 • Average velocity = (33 + 0) / 2 m/s = 16.5 m/s

Explanation:

 1. First, how long does it take the truck to come to a complete stop?
 1. ( 33 m/s ) / ( 11 m / s^2 ) = 3 seconds
 1. Then we can look at the average velocity between when the truck started decelerating and when it came to a complete stop. Because the deceleration is constant (always 11m/s^2) we can use this trick.

What is an RC circuit?
cupoosta [38]
Is a circuit with both a resistor (R) and a capacitor (C). RC circuits are frequent element in electronic devices. They also play an important role in the transmission of electrical signals in nerve cells.

Hope this helps!

if 100 kilojoules of energy is used to heat 500 grams of water what is the temperature change of the water
Serjik [45]

Answer:

47.8 °C

Explanation:

Use the heat equation:

q = mCΔT

where q is the heat absorbed/lost,

m is the mass of water,

C is the specific heat capacity,

and ΔT is the change in temperature.

Here, q = 100 kJ, m = 0.5 kg, and C = 4.184 kJ/kg/°C.

100 kJ = (0.5 kg) (4.184 kJ/kg/°C) ΔT

ΔT = 47.8 °C

A projectile is shot at an angle 45 degrees to the horizontalnear the surface of the earth but in the absence of air resistance.
juin [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

For first case

launch angle \theta =45^{\circ}C

at highest point h=150 m/s

150=u\cos 45

u=\frac{150}{\cos 45}=212.132 m/s

For second case

\theta _2=37^{\circ}C

at highest Point velocity is u\cos \theta _2

=212.132\times \cos 37

=169.41 m/s

as there is no acceleration in x direction therefore horizontal velocity is same
