Answer:

-7.5 cm

Explanation:

OK so in the equation they're having you use the variables are:

d_o = 5.0 cm\\\\f = 15.0 cm\\\\d_i = ?

So we simply plug in the variables:

d_i = \frac{d_of}{d_o-f} \\\\d_i = \frac{5.0 * 15.0}{5.0 - 15.0}\\\\d_i = \frac{75}{-10}\\\\d_i = -7.5 cm

IF EARTH HAD NO ATMOSPHERE, WOULD A FALLING OBJECT EVER REACH TERMIONAL VELOCITY?
EleoNora [17]
No.  What most people call 'terminal velocity' is the speed of the falling
object when the downward force of gravity is equal to the upward force
of air resistance.  At that speed, the vertical forces on the object are
balanced, so it stops accelerating, and falls at a constant speed.

If there were no atmosphere, there would be no upward force due to
air resistance.  The falling object would continue to accelerate all the
way down until it went 'splat'.

This is exactly the situation for meteoroids or asteroids falling onto the Moon.

A soccer ball of mass 0.35 kg is rolling with velocity 0, 0, 1.8 m/s, when you kick it. Your kick delivers an impulse of magnitu
Mademuasel [1]

Answer:

position 9.58 m

Explanation:

In impulse exercises and amount of movement, we always assume that the contact time is small,

     I = Δp

With this expression we can calculate the final speed

     I = m Vf - m Vo

    Vf = (I + mVo) / m

    Vf = (1.8 + 0.35 1.8) /0.35

    Vf = 6.94 m / s

To calculate the acceleration of the ball we use Newton's second law, after finishing the impulse

     ∑ F = m a

     fr = m a

     a = fr / m

     a = -0.26 / 0.35

     a = -0.74 m/s²

A negative sign indicates that this acceleration is slowing the ball

Now we have speed and time acceleration, so we can use the kinematic equations to find the position at 1.5 s

      X = Vo t + ½ to t²

 In this case Vo is the speed with which the ball comes out after the impulse 6.94

     X = 6.94 1.5 + ½ (-0.74) 1.522

     X = 9.58 m

The garcias like to keep their 40.0 watts front prch light on at night to welcome visitors. if the light is on from 6pm until 7a
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

For 1 week total cost will be equal to 0.2912

Explanation:

We have given power P = 40 watt

Light is on from 6 pm to 7 am

So total time = 13 hours

We know that energy is given by

Energy=power\times time

So energy will be E=40\times 13=520watt-hour=0.520Kwh

We have given cost per KWh is 0.08

So total cost per day will be = 0.08 ×0.520 = 0.0416

For 1 week that is for 7 day total cost will be = 7×0.0416 = 0.2912
