Answer:

50 m

Explanation:

Speed of ball during 1st five seconds of motion = v₁

Initial speed of the ball = u

v_1=u+at\\\Rightarrow v_1=5a

Speed of ball during 2nd five seconds of motion = v₂

Initial speed of ball during 2nd five seconds of motion = final Speed of ball during 1st five seconds of motion

v_2=u+at\\\Rightarrow v_2=5a+5a\\\Rightarrow v_2=10a

Distance travelled during 2nd five seconds of motion

\frac{v_1+v_2}{2}\times 5=150\\\Rightarrow 5a+10a=60\\\Rightarrow a=\frac{60}{15}\\\Rightarrow a=4\ m/s^2

Distance travelled during 1st five seconds of motion

s=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2\\\Rightarrow s=0t+\frac{1}{2}4\times 5^2\\\Rightarrow s=50\ m

∴ Distance travelled during 1st five seconds of motion is 50 m

How do I find time?
kari74 [83]

<u>Answer:</u>   3

H = 45 m ,

time required for the stone

  S = u.t+(1/2) g.t²

45  = (1/2) 9.81. t²      since u( initial velocity) = 0 ; S =H.

 t²  = 9.17 s

<em>  t = 3.02 s  </em>

therefore answer is 3 m/s

The driver of a 1500 kg car, travelling on a highway, hits the brakes. A force of 12000 N stops the car in a distance of 64 m. h
nekit [7.7K]

Answer:

v = 32 m/s

Explanation:

As per work energy theorem we know that work done by all the forces must be equal to change in kinetic energy of the car

So here when brakes are applied then work is done by the brakes which is equal to change in kinetic energy of the car

so we know that work done by the brakes is given as

W = -12000 \times 64

W = -768000 J

now we will have

W = 0 - \frac{1}{2}mv^2

-768000 = - \frac{1}{2}(1500) v^2

v = 32 m/s

A scuba diver and her gear displace a volume of 68.5 L and have a total mass of 71.8 kg . Part A What is the buoyant force on th
Luba_88 [7]

Answer:

A) Fb = 671.3 N

B) The diver will sink.

Explanation:

A)

The buoyant force applied on an object by a fluid is given by the following formula:

Fb = Vρg

where,

Fb = Buoyant Force = ?

V = Volume of the water displaced by the object = 68.5 L = 0.0685 m³

ρ = Density of Water = 1000 kg/m³

g = 9.8 m/s²

Therefore,

Fb = (0.0685 m³)(1000 kg/m³)(9.8 m/s²)

<u>Fb = 671.3 N</u>

B)

Now, in order to find out whether the diver sinks or float, we need to find weight of the diver with gear.

W = mg = (71.8 kg)(9.8 m/s²)

W = 703.64 N

Since, W > Fb. Therefore, the downward force of weight will make the diver sink.

<u>The diver will sink.</u>
