A vehicle's oil pressure warning light is on. Technician A says that the pressure sending unit should be replaced and the vehicl

e re-checked. Technician B says that a mechanical oil pressure gauge should be used to check the oil pressure before replacing the sending unit. Which technician is correct?

Answer:

Technician B is correct

Explanation:

Unless the car owner just put oil in the car, the sudden distrust of the pressure sending unit is alarming.

Even if the car owner just replaced oil, so many other things can cause a running out of oil.

So, the better option is to check the oil pressure with a gauge outside of the car system before deciding to replace the pressure sending unit.

If 5 mm of rain falls in a 100 m2 field, what volume of rain, in m3, fell in the field?
Nina [5.8K]

The volume of rain that fells in the field is simply given by the area of the field, which is

A=100 mm^2

multiplied by the height of rain that fell, which is

h=5.0 mm

Therefore, the volume is

V=hA=(5 mm)(100 mm^2)=500 mm^3

What is the current in a 160V circuit if the resistance is 2Ω? V= I= R =
sveta [45]

Answer:

80 amperes

Explanation:

Current in the circuit = ?

Voltage in the circuit = 160 Volts

Resistance = 2 Ω

Voltage = Current x Resistance

V = IR

160V = I x 2 Ω

I = 160V / 2 Ω

I = 80 Amperes

Therefore the current in the circuit is 80 amperes :)

A first order reaction, A -> products, has a rate reaction of .00250 Ms-1 when [A] = . 484 M. (a) What is the rate constant,
tamaranim1 [39]

Answer: a) The rate constant, k, for this reaction is 0.00516s^{-1}

b) No t_{\frac{1}{2}} does not depend on concentration.

Explanation:

Rate law says that rate of a reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of the reactants each raised to a stoichiometric coefficient determined experimentally called as order.

A\rightarrow products

Given: Order with respect to A = 1

Thus rate law is:

a) Rate=k[A]^1

k= rate constant

0.00250=k[0.484]^1

k=0.00516s^{-1}

The rate constant, k, for this reaction is 0.00516s^{-1}

b) Expression for rate law for first order kinetics is given by:

t=\frac{2.303}{k}\log\frac{a}{a-x}

where,

k = rate constant

t = age of sample

a = let initial amount of the reactant

a - x = amount left after decay process

Half life is the amount of time taken by a radioactive material to decay to half of its original value.

t_{\frac{1}{2}}=\frac{2.303}{k}\log\frac{100}{50}

t_{\frac{1}{2}}=\frac{0.69}{k}

Thus t_{\frac{1}{2}} does not depend on concentration.
