The correct answer is 8. See the steps below:

1. We will use x for the unknown number.

2. X^2+24=5x according to the given info.

3. Move everything to one side.

X^2-5x-24=0
(X-8)(x+3)=0

X is 8 or -3.

However, the problem said positive number. So we can ignore the -3, the correct answer is 8.

How do you simplify on number 1?
Dennis_Churaev [7]
Okay. On the part that's not the whole number, see how the top number is BIGGER than the bottom? That means that it's not simplified. In order to make it simplified, you have to take a whole out of the pat that's not a whole number. Since the denominator is 12, the whole is 12/12. So, subtract it from the 13/12.

13/12-12/12=1/12

Now, since you found a whole inside of the fraction you have to add 1 to the whole number.
5+1=6

So, the answer is 6 1/12.

Thanks for the points!

The measures of two complementary angles have a ratio of 3:2 what is the meusure of the larger angle
ozzi

Answer:

54

Step-by-step explanation:

The two angles add to 90 degrees since they are complementary

the ratio is 3:2

Multiply by x

3x:2x

Add them together and set equal to 90

3x+2x=90

5x=90

Divide each side by 5

5x/5 = 90/5

x = 18

The first angle is 3*18 = 54

The second angle is 2*18 = 36
