Answer:

Initial Velocity is 4 m/s

Explanation:

What is acceleration?

It is the change in velocity with respect to time, or the rate of change of velocity.

We can write this as:

a=\frac{\Delta v}{t}

Where

a is the acceleration

v is velocity

t is time

\Delta  is "change in"

For this problem , we are given

a = 1.2

t = 10

Putting into formula, we get:

a=\frac{\Delta v}{t}\\1.2=\frac{\Delta v}{10}\\\Delta v = 1.2*10\\\Delta v = 12

So, the change in velocity is 12 m/s

The change in velocity can also be written as:

\Delta v = Final  \ Velocity - Initial \ Velocity

It is given Final Velocity = 16, so we put it into formula and find Initial Velocity. Shown Below:

\Delta v = Final  \ Velocity - Initial \ Velocity\\12=16-Initial \ Velocity\\Initial \ Velocity = 16 - 12 = 4

hence,

Initial Velocity is 4 m/s

Verizon [17]
I disagree with that opinion, and I have solid Physics to back me up.

The forces of gravity are always equal in both directions. The sun pulls the Earth with exactly the same force with which the Earth pulls the sun.

It may seem weird, but your weight on Earth is exactly the same as the Earth's weight on you. For the same reason.

A truck is speeding up as it travels on an interstate. The truck's momentum (in kg · m/s) is proportional to the truck's speed (
serious [3.7K]

Answer:

a)48300 times

b)P = 821100  kg · m/s

Explanation:

Given that

m = 48300 kg

v= 23 m/s

We know that linear momentum (P) given as

P = m v

P = 48300 x 23  kg · m/s

So we can say that truck momentum is 48300 times its velocity.

Now given that

v= 17 m/s

P = m v

P = 48300 x 17  kg · m/s

P = 821100  kg · m/s
