n → smaller

20 - n → larger

4 (20 - n) = 5n - 1

80 - 4n = 5n - 1

81 = 9n

n = 9

20 - n = 11

Therefore, the numbers are 9 and 11.

Your larger number is 11 and your smaller one is 9. You solve this by first dividing 20 in half. Then you make one larger than the other by subtracting 1 from one 10 and adding adding that subtracted 1 to the other 10. Then you multiply 11 by 4 (11×4) and get 44 then multiply 9 by 5 (9×5) and get 45. Then subtract 44 from 45 (45-44) and the difference is 1.

The cost of tuition at a 2 year school is $14,000 per academic year. Todd is eligible for $6,500 in financial aid to cover tuiti
emmainna [20.7K]

Answer:

$625

Step-by-step explanation:

If Todd has to pay $14,000 in tuition for his school each year and uses $6,500 in financial aid each year all for 2 years, the money he needs to save can be modeled by:

2(-$14000 + $6500) + 2(12x) = 0.

x is the minimum amount of money he needs to save in order to cover this expense without debt.

Thus 2(-$14000 + $6500) + 2(12x) = 0 →

2(-$7500) + 24x = 0 → -$15000 + 24x = 0 →

24x = $15000 → x = $625

A set of equations is given below:
Tasya [4]

Answer:

The number of solutions to the given set of equations is 0.

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of solutions of a system of equations:

System of equations: ax = b

If a = 0 and b = 0, infinite solutions.

If a = 0 and b != 0, zero solutions.

If a != 0 and b != 0, one solution.

We are given the following system of equations:

y = 7x + 12

y = 7x + 2

So

7x + 12 = 7x + 2

7x - 7x = 2 - 12

0x = -10

a = 0, b != 0, so zero solutions.

The number of solutions to the given set of equations is 0.

0 3 8 15 24 35... What is the next value? The choices are 46, 48, 52, and 59.
Leto [7]
The next value would be 48. The values keep increasing by odd numbers. Like the first one is 3 then it goes to 5.

3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13.....
