Answer:

The  formula is = LiClO_4.(H_2O)_3

Explanation:

Moles =\frac {Given\ mass}{Molar\ mass}

% of Li = 4.330

Molar mass of Li = 6.941 g/mol

% moles of Li = \frac{4.330}{6.941} = 0.62382

% of Cl = 22.10

Molar mass of Cl = 1.00784 g/mol

% moles of Cl = \frac{22.10}{35.453} = 0.62336

% of O = 39.89

Molar mass of O = 15.999 g/mol

% moles of O = \frac{39.89}{15.999} = 2.49328

% of H₂O = 33.69

Molar mass of H₂O = 18.01528 g/mol

% moles of H₂O = \frac{33.69}{18.01528} = 1.87007

Taking the simplest ratio for Li , Cl, O, and H₂O as:

0.62382 : 0.62336 : 2.49328 :  1.87007

= 1 : 1 : 4 : 3

The  formula is = LiClO_4.(H_2O)_3

Liquid nitrogen trichloride is heated in a 2.50−L closed reaction vessel until it decomposes completely to gaseous elements. The
Fofino [41]

Answer:

1. Partial pressure of N2 is 204.5 mmHg

2. Partial pressure of Cl2 is 613.5 mmHg

Explanation:

Step 1:

The equation for the reaction. This is given below:

NCl3 —> N2 (g) + Cl2 (g)

Step 2:

Balancing the equation.

NCl3 (l) —> N2 (g) + Cl2 (g)

The above equation is balanced as follow:

There are 2 atoms of N on the right side and 1 atom on the left side. It can be balance by putting 2 in front of NCl3 as shown below:

2NCl3 (l) —> N2 (g) + Cl2 (g)

There are 6 atoms of Cl on the left side and 2 atoms on the right side. It can be balance by putting 3 in front of Cl2 as shown below:

2NCl3 (l) —> N2 (g) + 3Cl2 (g)

Now the equation is balanced.

Step 2:

Determination of the mole fraction of each gas.

From the balanced equation above, the resulting mixture of the gas contains:

Mole of N2 = 1

Mole of Cl2 = 3

Total mole = 4

Therefore, the mole fraction for each gas is:

Mole fraction of N2 = mole of N2/total mole

Mole fraction of N2 = 1/4

Mole fraction of Cl2 = mole of Cl2/total mole

Mole fraction of Cl2 = 3/4

Step 3:

Determination of the partial pressure of N2.

Partial pressure = mole fraction x total pressure

Total pressure = 818 mmHg

Mole fraction of N2 = 1/4

Partial pressure of N2 = 1/4 x 818

Partial pressure of N2 = 204.5 mmHg

Step 4:

Determination of the partial pressure of Cl2.

Partial pressure = mole fraction x total pressure

Total pressure = 818 mmHg

Mole fraction of Cl2 = 3/4

Partial pressure of Cl2 = 3/4 x 818

Partial pressure of Cl2 = 613.5 mmHg

What is the k expression for this reaction? plz help !
just olya [345]

Answer:

K = [HI]² / [H₂] [I₂]

Explanation:

To write the expression of equilibrium constant, K, it is important that we know how to obtain the equilibrium constant.

The equilibrium constant, K for a given reaction is simply defined as the ratio of the concentration of the products raised to their coefficient to the concentration of the reactants raised to their coefficient. Thus, the equilibrium constant is written as follow:

K = [Product] / [Reactant]

Now, we shall determine the equilibrium constant for the reaction given in the question above. This can be obtained as illustrated below:

H₂(g) + I₂(g) —> 2HI (g)

K = [HI]² / [H₂] [I₂]
