Answer:

Cobalt and its derivatives act as a catalyst for some enzymatic functions, in this case, it acts as a cofactor.

Cobaloximes are effective electrocatalysts for the production of hydrogen and, therefore, functional models for hydrogenases.

Explanation:

Cobalt is a metal that participates directly in the synthesis of vitamin B12, necessary for the metabolism of various proteins, with megaloblastic anemia being one of the greatest evidences of a lack.

Its main function is that it integrates the vitamin B12 molecule, also called cyanocobalamin, so that lack of cobalt causes the same symptoms as vitamin B12 deficiency.

Vitamin B12 can only be synthesized by bacteria and for this a cobalt atom is required, in fact adult ruminants can synthesize enough vitamin B12 in the rumen provided they have an adequate supply of cobalt.

It acts as a catalyst for some enzymatic functions, in this case, it acts as a cofactor. Very important for example in the transfer of methyl groups, in this way cobalt, together with folic acid participate in the synthesis of methionine.

The dimethylglioxime (dmgH) complexes to the cobalt to give a series of complexes of Co (III), called cobaloxime, that having 4 positions coordinated to nitrogen in a coplanar way and forming a ring similar to the corrínico nucleus; If another substituent also has an N-heterocyclic nature, it can correctly simulate the B12 system.

Hospital patients are administered oxygen from an pressurized
VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

32000atm

Explanation:

Using Boyle's law equation;

P1V1 = P2V2

Where;

P1 = initial pressure (atm)

P2 = final pressure (atm)

V1 = initial volume (

V2 = final volume (L)

According to the question below:

P1 = 160.0 atm

P2 = 3.0 atm

V1 = 600L

V2 = ?

Using P1V1 = P2V2

160 × 600 = 3 × V2

96000 = 3V2

V2 = 96000/3

V2 = 32000atm

Why is the symbol for a piece of aluminum foil written as AI, when it actually contains billions of aluminum atoms?
lisov135 [29]

Answer:

Read Explanation

Explanation:

Aluminum foil does contain billions of atoms, but we write them just as Al because aluminum does not exist in single atom forms in normal circumstances but as billions in metallic bonds.

What stress would shift the equilibrium position of the following system to the left?
Margarita [4]

Answer:

Heating the system

Explanation:

According to the principle of Le Chatelier, for a system at equilibrium, a specific disturbance would make the equilibrium shift toward the direction which minimizes such a disturbance.

Since we wish to shift the equilibrium to the left, this means we wish to increase the concentration of products, as an excess in their concentration would make the products react and produce more reactants in order to lower the excess concentration of products.

Since heat is also a product, an increase in heat would shift the equilibrium toward the left, as this would consume the excess of heat by producing the reactants.
