Answer:

The correct answer is b. glucose is low and lactose is present

Explanation:

Lac operons are found in bacteria and it contains one regulator gene, one promotor sequence, one operator and three structural genes. When lactose is not present in the environment regulatory gene synthesizes repressor proteins that bind to the operator and stops the expression of the lac operon.

When lactose or allolactose is present then it binds to repressor proteins and prevents the protein to bind to the operator region which results in the expression of the lac operon. So to express lac operon lactose should be present.

In presence high amount of glucose lac operon is not expressed because glucose is the easy source of getting energy than lactose so for expression of lac operon glucose should be low and lactose should be present.

Answer:

Option B,  glucose is low and lactose is present

Explanation:]

Lac operon transcription is dependent on two regulatory proteins

• The lac repressor which acts as a  lactose sensor.

• The catabolite activator protein (CAP) which acts as a glucose sensor.

In the presence of glucose, the adenylate cyclase is inhibited due to which cAMP is not produced. But once the glucose level becomes low or negligible, cAMP is produced as adenylate cyclase is not inhibited any more. cAMP produces a complex by combining to catabolite activator protein (CAP), thereby allowing transcription of the lac operon.

In the absence of lactose, lac repressor binds to operator due to which transcription stops and in case where lactose is present, lac repressor does not binds to operator and hence allows lac transcirption

Hence, option B is correct

How do the heart and lungs work together
MrRa [10]
Heart and lungs works hand in hand. Not only that they are close to each other but they also work to make sure that body gets enough oxygen that it needs to live. It is the heart that pumps blood through the body it passes through the lungs. then it is the job of the lungs to supply oxygen together with the blood that heart pumps.

what would be the most likely effect on cellular respiration if a plant were to lose much of its cjhlorophylkl
goldenfox [79]

Cellular respiration would produce less energy when plant were to lose much of its chlorophyll.

Plants can actually live longer without photosynthesis than they can without respiration. Some plants survive half the year without performing photosynthesis, but if they stop performing cellular respiration, even for a minute, they would be dead where they stand.

During photosynthesis, plants absorb sunlight and carbon dioxide from the air. Through a series of steps, much like cellular respiration, they convert these reactants into the products oxygen and glucose. The plants then can use the oxygen and glucose to make ATP in cellular respiration. The rate of respiration is greater than the rate of photosynthesis. So this means there is an overall excess of carbon dioxide is produced during respiration.

What are the conditions that lead to a "beer gut" due to the excess consumption of alcohol? NADH produced from the metabolism of
kkurt [141]

Answer: Excess ethanol metabolism leads to an accumulation of NADH that inhibits fatty acid metabolism.

Explanation:

Fatty acid metabolism is often activated by limited or absence of NADH, however ethanol (the main constituent of most alcoholic drinks) on metabolism yields several molecules of NADH which rather stimulates belly/abdominal fat production often referred to as "beer gut".
