First we need to find the slope of the given line. And for that we need to bring the equation in y=mx +b form where m is the slope. And for that, we need to solve the given equation for y.

0.5x-5y=9

Moving 9 to the left side

0.5x-5y-9=0

Moving 5y to the right side

0.5x -9 = 5y

Getting rid of 5 by dividing both sides by 5, that is

0.1x -(9/5)=y

or y=0.1x -(9/5)

Therefore slope of the given line is 0.1 and parallel lines have same slopes. Therefore slope of the parallel line is 0.1 too .

Find the values of x and y if (2x + y, 2) = (1, x - y).
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

We have, 2x+y=3 .......(1)

xy=1....(2)

In equation (2), we get

y=

x

1

..........(3)

y put in the equation (1)

2x+

x

1

=3

2x

2

+1=3x

2x

2

−3x+1=0

2x

2

−3x−1x+1=0

2x(x−1)−1(x−1)=0

x=1, x=

2

1

We take the value of x=1

x value put in equation (1)

2(1)+y=3

y=3−2

y=1

x=1

x and y value put (x+y)

x−y

=(1+1)

(1−1)

=2

=1

Hence, this is the answer

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gekata [30.6K]

Answer:

The ordered pairs of A and C are not functions

Step-by-step explanation:

To determine if the ordered pairs are a function you look at the x values to see if they repeat. You don't want one input(x values) to lead to two outputs(y values). This would mean that you are never sure which output you will get.

In the answer A the x value "2" repeats, in the answer C the x value "1" repeats thus not making them functions.
