A line that is parallel has the same slop where a line that is perpendicular has a slop that is negative and reciprocal.

so for the parallel one you don't need to worry about the slop because it will be 2/3x. But yous the point slope equation form

y-y1=m(x-x1)

y+5=2/3(x+2)

y+5=2/3x+ 4/3

y=2/3x-11/3

-2/3x+y=-11/3

multiple by -1 so A inst negative

2/3-y=11/3

For a line that is perpendicular you just need to flip the original 2/3x slope and make it negative.

y+5=-3/2(x+2)

y+5=-3/2x-3

y=-3/2x-8

3/2x+y=-8

ANSWER THIS FOR 11 POINTS, what are the slope and y intercept of the function?
Butoxors [25]

Answer:

y intercept=4 and the slop is 1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

The y intercept is the point where the line intersects the y axis. As we can see the line is intecepting the y axis at point 0,4 or just 4. To find the slope from that point you need to go y places up or down and x places left or right-additionally the point has to be on that line. For example from point 0,4 which is our y-intercept if we go up 1 and over 3 to the right from that point then we get another point that's on the line.

-kinda hard to explain but hope this helps

A grocery store sells Swiss cheese for $5.90 a pound. To the nearest cent, what is the cost per ounce of Swiss cheese? Round you
Debora [2.8K]

Answer:

37 cents

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that a grocery store sells Swiss cheese

Rate per pound = 5.90 dollars

1 pound =16 oz,

Hence cost of 16 ounces is given as 5.90

SO cost of one ounce of Swiss cheese =\frac{5/90}{16} =0.36875

Or 36.875 cents

Round off to nearest cent as

37 cents since after decimal digit 8 is more than 5.

Hence answer is 37 cents
