Answer: b. we are located within one of its spiral arms

Explanation:

Milky way galaxy is spiral in shape. But we cannot see it from Earth. This is because we cannot see the galaxy from the top, we reside in it. Scientists have mapped the stars and found out that the shape of our galaxy is spiral and that we are located in one of its spiral arm. The name of the spiral arm in which Earth is located is Orion arm. we can see other arms in the night sky.

answer is - Because quite simply, we are within it. If we were out side of our Galaxy, then we could "see" the spiral shape. But don't expect to see it for a longgggg time. It's over 25,000 light years to the edge and a lot further if you want to see it, in it's entirety. All images are artists impressions.so it is[b]

You place ammonium nitrate crystals in water and stirred. As you do so, the container becomes cold to the touch. This an example
ankoles [38]

The process of flask becoming cold is due to endothermic reaction.

Answer: Option B

Explanation:

So two kinds of heat transfer can be possible in any chemical reaction. If the sample is considered as system and the sample container is considered as the surrounding, then heat transfer can occur between them.

If the heat is transferred from the surrounding to the system , then it is an endothermic reaction. And in those cases, the sample holder will be becoming colder. This is because the heat from the surrounding that is the container will be utilized to complete the reaction.

While when there is transfer of heat from the system to surrounding , it will be exothermic reaction and the beaker will be getting hot in this process. So in the present case, the container is becoming cold because of occurrence of endothermic process.

Acartravelingat15m/sstartstodeceleratesteadily.Itcomestoacompletestopin10seconds.Whatisit'sacceleration? a. 1500 m/s b. -1.5 m/s
Amiraneli [1.4K]

Answer:

b. -1.5 m/s²

Explanation:

Given the following data;

Initial velocity = 15m/s

Time = 10 seconds.

Since the car came to rest, final velocity = 0m/s

To find acceleration;

In physics, acceleration can be defined as the rate of change of the velocity of an object with respect to time.

This simply means that, acceleration is given by the subtraction of final speed from the initial speed all over time.

Mathematically, acceleration is given by the equation;

Acceleration (a) = \frac{initial \; speed - final \; speed}{time}

a = \frac{v - u}{t}

Where,

a is acceleration measured in ms^{-2}

v and u is initial and final speed respectively, measured in ms^{-1}

t is time measured in seconds.

Substituting into the equation, we have;

Acceleration, a = \frac{0 - 15}{10}

Acceleration, a = \frac{-15}{10}

Acceleration = -1.5 m/s²

The table shows the percentage of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere in the years 1800 and 2013. Calculate the difference
Natalka [10]

The difference in the mass of carbon dioxide in 500 kg of air in 2013 compared to 1800 is 0.06 Kg

Data obtained from the question

 • Year 1800 percent = 0.028%
 • Year 2013 percent = 0.040%
 • Mass of air = 500 Kg
 • Difference =?

How to determine the mass of CO₂ in 500 Kg in year 1800

 • Year 1800 percent = 0.028%
 • Mass of air = 500 Kg
 • Mass of CO₂ =?

Mass = percent × mass of air

Mass of CO₂ = 0.028% × 500

Mass of CO₂ = 0.14 Kg

How to determine the mass of CO₂ in 500 Kg in year 2013

 • Year 1800 percent = 0.040%
 • Mass of air = 500 Kg
 • Mass of CO₂ =?

Mass = percent × mass of air

Mass of CO₂ = 0.040% × 500

Mass of CO₂ = 0.2 Kg

How to determine the difference

 • Mass of CO₂ in year 1800 = 0.14 Kg
 • Mass of CO₂ in year 2013 = 0.2 Kg
 • Difference =?

Difference = mass in 2013 - mass in 1800

Difference = 0.2 - 0.14

Difference = 0.06 Kg

As a train accelerates away from a station, it reaches a speed of 4.9 m/s in 5.1 s. If the train's acceleration remains constant
vodomira [7]
Acceleration is the rate of change of the velocity of a moving object. To determine the speed the object has at a certain time, we need to determine the acceleration first by dividing the speed with the time given. We do as follows:

acceleration = 4.9 m/s / 5.1 s = 0.96 m/s^2

To determine the velocity after 7.1 s, we multiply 7.1 s to the acceleration.

speed or velocity = 0.96 x 7.1 = 6.52 m/s

light waves are first transmitted through the ________ at the front of the eye and enter an opening called the ________ before s
viva [34]

The transmission of light waves is usually done through cornea of the eyes, then move through another opening which is regarded as pupil before it will get to the retina.

 • Light waves can be regarded as moving energy which contains microscopic particles known as photons.
 • The vision of the eye can be completed through the light wave passing through the components of the eyes and this process goes thus;
 • Light will move through the (cornea) which is situated at the front area of the eyes into lens.
 • Then both the cornea and the lens give room for the focusing of the light rays to the retina which is situated at the back of the eye .
 • Then through the help of the cells in the retina, the light will be absorbed and then be converted to electrochemical impulses and then transfer it to the brain as well as optic nerve.

Therefore, light wave are form of tiny microscopic particles.
