Answer:

The height of the stack will be 6.022\times 10^{17} km.

Explanation:

Thickness of the single penny ,t= 1.0 mm

Avogadro number = N_A=6.022\times 10^{23}

If we stack Avogadro numbers of pennies one top of the other on Earth surface, the height of the pennies can be said to be h.

t\time N_A=h

1.0 mm\times 6.022\times 10^{23} =6.022\times 10^{23} mm

1 m = 10^{-6} km

h=6.022\times 10^{23} mm=6.022\times 10^{23} \times 10^{-6} km

h=6.022\times 10^{17} km

The height of the stack will be 6.022\times 10^{17} km.

What type of solid has the highest melting point?
dem82 [27]

Answer: B -Network solids

Ionic solids are held by positive and negative charged ions bonded by electrostatic forces. The electrostatic force is much stronger than dipole–dipole interactions, London dispersion forces, hydrogen bonding.

Molecular solids are held by dipole–dipole interactions, London dispersion forces, or hydrogen bonds. Benzene is an example of this. These inter-molecular force are much weaker than electrostatic force.

The metallic bonds are much weaker than electrostatic force. Similarly, in non-metallic solids the atoms are held by covalent bonds. These covalent bonds are weaker than the electrostatic force.

Thus we can conclude that electrostatic force is the strongest when compared to  dipole–dipole interactions, London dispersion forces, hydrogen bonding,covalent and metallic bonds. Thus ionic solids will have the highest melting point as more energy is required to break the ionic bonds as this is the strongest bond compared to the other bonds.

What is the percent composition of NaHCO3?
zhuklara [117]

Answer:

                Option-C (27.36% Na, 1.20% H, 14.30% C, and 57.14% O)

Explanation:

<em>Percent Composition</em> is defined as the <u><em>%age by mass of each element present in a compound</em></u>. Therefore, it is a relative amount of each element present in a compound.

Calculating Percent Composition of NaHCO₃:

1: Calculating Molar Masses of all elements present in NaHCO₃:

              a) Na  =  22.99 g/mol

             b) H  =  1.01 g/mol

              c) C  =  12.01 g/mol

              d) O₃  =  16.0 × 3 =  48 g/mol

2: Calculating Molecular Mass of NaHCO₃:

              Na  =  22.99 g/mol

             H    =  1.01 g/mol

              C    =  12.01 g/mol

              O₃  =  48 g/mol

                       ----------------------------------

Total                  84.01 g/mol

3: Divide each element's molar mass by molar mass of NaHCO₃ and multiply it by 100:

For Na:

                 =  22.99 g.mol⁻¹ ÷ 84.01 g.mol⁻¹ × 100

                 =  27.36 %

For H:

                 =  1.01 g.mol⁻¹ ÷ 84.01 g.mol⁻¹ × 100

                 =  1.20 %

For C:

                 =  12.01 g.mol⁻¹ ÷ 84.01 g.mol⁻¹ × 100

                 =  14.29 % ≈ 14.30 %

For O:

                 =  48.0 g.mol⁻¹ ÷ 84.01 g.mol⁻¹ × 100

                 =  57.13 % ≈ 57.14 %
